good leadership with a lot of knowledge and interesting places. Good tips and very friendly...
Our guide was very nice but I’ve never been on a food tour when the guide ate with us, and by that, I mean literally using his fork in our foods. The olive oil stop was great. We returned later to shop on our own. The tapas ordered were delicious but again we were a bit uncomfortable with the sharing of forks and food. For the price and compared to other food tours this was a great disappointment.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the olive oil stop, the quality of the tapas and the guide. This is the first time we receive a comment like this. Our tours are designed to reflect authentic Spanish culture, where tapas are traditionally shared at the table. That said, we understand your perspective and will ensure our guides are more mindful of personal space and comfort. We appreciate you highlighting this and helping us improve.
We could not have asked for a better guide. Lovely tour of old town followed by an exquisite olive oil tasting and tapas at two fantastic very local places
Great history of Old Town Marbella. Easy walking and very few stairs. Stops were awesome. The olive oil tasting was my favorite.
Our guide Franko was very friendly and informative. The visit to the wine tasting/olive oil tasting venue was an excellent experience. The host was knowledgeable and interesting. Who knew there were so many types of olives and grapes in the world! Overall fantastic experience. Thank you for a truly enjoyable afternoon.
Our tour guide Franco had much knowledge to share of beautiful Marbella. The olive oil stop was our favorite. The owner shared with us all the fine points of Spanish olive oil. He also had some great wines to taste. We will share with friends when we get home the tapas stop was very tasty.
Very skilled guide and a very nice walk in old town. Not fulls core due to we had an expectation on wine tasting to tapas (different wines). But very interesting oil tasting we had.
We gave this tour a very high rating because of Lana’s knowledge, and it fulfilled our desire to find out more about Spain’s olive oils and at the same time find gifts uniquely specific to Spain. We found exactly what we wanted and the tasting was exciting. We cook with olive oils daily and have tried many different infused olive oils from Los Olivos Central Coast California, but D Olivo offered exciting packaging and a wasabi infused olive oil along with so many flavors it was difficult to select just a few because of luggage limitations. Two customers came by and told us the tomato/basil infused olive oil is their favorite. Not only can we use it ourselves but we purchased smaller containers to take back home for gifts! There were so many varieties! We’ll think of Spain each time we complement our food with these special olive oils and it’s great to know they’re healthy too! We were very fortunate to have Lana (I hope we remembered her name correctly) as our guide, she did not rush us and provided options in Spanish foods that we have never tried but loved all of her choices in tapas. Pimiento de patron, (small green pepper) they were so delicious, now my favorite and she even told me how to make them at home! We also had small red peppers stuffed with cream cheese, a delight and patatas frito and langostine shrimp, all new to us and delicious as was the jamon combination sandwiches and cheese. She was very informative, gave a very detailed history of Southern Spain and, its people, architecture, culture and religions. We are returning to Old Town Marbella this evening since now we feel comfortable returning to the stores and restaurants that Lana showed us during the tour.
Very nice walk through old Marbella. The olive oil tasting was especially fun and special. The friendly guide, Franco, showed us 2 tapas restaurants where mainly Spanish locals come.
Franco the tour guy was lovely and full of information. The tour was not as specified we had two meals with wine, but there was no actual wine tasting. The olive oil tasting was lovely but would have worked really well with wine tasting to accompany it. Overall an ok experience but was miss sold.
