Bygget af kong Raja Simha i begyndelsen af det 8. århundrede, Shore Temple er et milepæl i det arkitektoniske landskab i Indien. Marco Polo kaldte det de syv pagoder. Det eksisterende tempel er den sidste overlevende af de 7 som engang stod som en fyr for søfarere.
Disse er stenskåret monolit templer strukturer bygget i det 7. århundrede. Hver af de 5 rathas eller vogne er dedikeret til den ledende cast af Mahabharat episke - Draupadi, Arjuna, Nakul-Sahadeva, Bhima og Yudhister. Der er også en skulptur af en elefant ved siden af ratha af Nakul-Sahadeva. Når du står mod elefantens bagside, vil du bemærke, at der er en mærkelig lighed mellem vognens bagside og elefanten.

Pandava grotte er den største grotte-tempel på Mahabalipuram Grotten er understøttet på seks søjler og to pilastere.

Dette er en imponerende vogn udskåret af en enkelt sten. Oprindeligt dedikeret til Lord Shiva, har det nu guddommen af hans søn Lord Ganesh.
Bygget i år 640, er det Indiens ældste lyshus og et af de ældste i verden.

This trip was worth every penny. We rode in a comfortable car. We saw four beautiful historical places and got interesting information about each of them.
