Efter boarding bussen på Nelly Bay terminal møder du din venlige lokale guide, som vil eskortere dig hele dagen. Vores guider er alle lokale, med en dybdegående viden om livet på øen. Efter en kort introduktion vil du komme dig gennem Nelly Bay til den vestlige side af øen. Undervejs får du nogle baggrundsfakta på øen og en introduktion til geografi og fauna.
Afsluttede tirsdage og mellem Australien dag til påske. Beliggende i den kulturarvede Picnic Bay School og historiske Butler Hut, driver centret et museum og sælger lokalt fremstillede håndværk og historiske publikationer. Museet viser øhistorie gennem permanente udstillinger og varierende årlige udstillinger.
Valgfrit stop hvor vi vil opdage sin historie og hvordan den blev reddet fra nedrivning, og tage i de smukke omgivelser
Intet besøg på Maggie ville være komplet uden stop ved Geoffrey Bay for at se, om du kan finde nogle af vores yderst søde Allied Rock Wallabies. Disse wallabies findes kun i Northern Queensland mellem Townsville og Burdekin River. Geoffrey Bay er også en mulighed for at komme ud af bussen og komme tæt og personlig med vores utrolige klippeformationer.
Når bussen klatrer op ad den lange stejle bakke mod Horseshoe Bay, får du en betagende udsigt over øen. Du vil derefter gå ned på den anden side ind i det gamle landbrugsområde, før vi stopper for en times fritid i Horseshoe Bay, hvor en række forskellige fødevarer er tilgængelig. I løbet af vinteren, når sommerfuglene er rundt, vil vi helt sikkert besøge sommerfugleskoven for en kort bush walk. Det er en oplevelse, du ikke må gå glip af og god balsam for sjælen. Horseshoe Bay tilbyder også svømning året rundt med en sikker svømmehal på plads i sommermånederne. Et fremragende sted at køle af, hvis du medbringer dine svømmere.
Efter frokost vil du vende tilbage til færgen, hvilket giver dig chancen for at fange de fantastiske udsigter igen. Denne gang vil vi dog gå gennem Arcadia, langs den smukke Hayles Avenue med et kort stop ved Aquasearch Aquarium ($ 3 adgangsgebyr, kun kontant), hvor vi vil forsøge at finde Nemo og Dory og chatte om vores Giant Clams inden vi går tilbage til færgen terminalen i tide til at mødes den 3 pm depature til townsville.

Just right. Neil, our guide was friendly, informative & knowledgeable. The 5 hour tour (including an hour lunch stop) was never boring. Comfortable van. Tour nicely timed to fit in with ferry times.
This tour was the best way to obtain a good overview of the island - especially the populated / tourist bits; as well as could be done in a day, and much better than could have been achieved independently. Neill provided great commentary throughout, laced with some humour at times. He covered historical facts, geographical and geological information as well as natural / environmental facts. The time available of course limited the opportunities at locations which one might have liked to explore some more; however, Neill was most accommodating when requests for quick photo stops were made.
Neil is extremely knowledgeable about the island and its flora and fauna. His enthusiasm about living there is contagious. Being a local he can probably answer all of your questions.
An excellent tour to gain an overall view of Magnetic Is. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw many things we would not have known about if doing a DIY explore. Travel from Townsville very easy with the SeaLink ferry , and the tour better value than taking our own car or hiring on Magnetic.

A great intro to Magnetic Island covering the geography, the history, the flora and the fauna. And a very knowledgeable guide who clearly loves his island. Definitely recommend it!

What a fantastic day! Can highly recommended this day tour. Worth every cent. We had been to the island before many years ago but just explored it ourselves. This time, on the tour, we learnt SO MUCH we would not have known otherwise. Our guide Neil knew all the cool places to go to see the local wildlife and we saw a koala, turtle, osprey, heaps of rock wallabies and did a few cool walks to hidden gems like a butterfly forest. Even morning tea is provided. Thanks for a magical Maggie experience!
