Et tidligt morgeneventyr for at se Calcutta vågne op. Oplev Calcutta som Local og ikke bare en turist. Prøv forskellige transportformer, lokale steder og bland ind i Calcuttas fortælling ligesom en lokal. Denne tur er ikke den sædvanlige Heritage-vandring, men en antropologisk oplevelse med byen og dens mennesker. Målet med turen er ikke kun for dig at forstå byen, men at blive forelsket i Calcutta og dets lokale stof. Turen ledes af Soham, grundlæggeren af Calcutta Capsule walking tours, som af mange betragtes som den bedste vandreturspecialist i verden (ref anmeldelser). Blandt højdepunkterne på turen besøger vi: Gamle Calcutta, Howrah Bridge, Blomstermarked, Ganges/Ganga, Kumartuli - Idolfremstillingslandsby, Lokal traditionel morgenmad. Hver morgen, før solen står op; Mens gadelamperne i Calcutta slukker, starter vi Magic hour-turen for at se Calcutta vågne op. Vi hopper på dagens første bus fra det ældste kvarter i Calcutta, når byen går ind i den fortryllende Magic Hour. Slyngende gennem den søvnige 300 år lange lokalitet i fuld gas, bruges de næste par timer på at besøge de ældste områder i Calcutta. Før den travle kæmpeby vågner op, ville vi have brugt alle de ikoniske transportformer, spist morgenmad på et århundrede gammelt skjult sted, sladret om Calcutta som en lokal, talt om dens historie, antropologi og forelsket os desperat i byen. Den "uguidede tur", som vi kalder den, starter med Chai (te) i en bhaad (jordkopper) og slutter med traditionel bengalsk morgenmad, de bedste slik i Calcutta. Enjoyed a fantastic “magic hour” tour of Kolkata! One of the highlights of my trip to India!. The tour included both food (chai and separate breakfast) in local venues I never would have found on my own and incorporated local travel modes that also would have been difficult to navigate as a foreigner. Tour was so insightful and thoughtfully laid out. I would highly recommend and would go out of my way to take his other tours when back in Kolkata!!!
This was such an amazing tour! I got to watch the city early in the day, the layers. It was a walking tour mostly but I was also on a bus, a boat and it was such a unique experience with the locals. I loved the food, stories, flower market and learning about the goddess Kali. I highly recommend.

I believe the best time to visit anywhere is in the early morning so I booked this tour for my partner and myself. And here in Kolkata I was right! What an amazing tour. In a tough city to get to the nitty gritty you need a hand and joining Soham on the Magic hour tour was just the hand needed. He has put his heart and soul into this tour and his knowledge and passion about his home city was infectious. With a city like Kalkata you need to scratch deep for its magic once you see it you never forget it. Great tour great city. Get your lazy ass out of bed and book it! Highly recommended. Thanks 🙏🏽
Soham is lovely, do this tour! (Or any of his others!) He is knowledgeable, eloquent and engaging, and the time flew by very enjoyably. He is from Kolkata and obviously loves sharing his passion about it. He will point out things you otherwise wouldn’t notice. It was good to do this trip soon after we arrived to help us get our bearings and ask some general questions. We are very glad we booked it, and we are not early morning people!!!!

What an amazing tour! Thank you Soham for showing the hidden gems of the city (which as tourist I wouldn’t be able to know without the local’s knowledge), he is such a great storyteller that makes the whole experience interesting and fun. I get to try different local transportation and learn the history of Kolkata, it’s truly an unique experience and I highly recommend people who visit the city for the first time to sign up for this tour!
