Rafaat was friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. A good mix of casual food. Be prepared for sales after spice, paper, rug & aroma oil stops.

I had a good time with John - he drove us over to Giza and he intertwined food with stops at shops that featured product’s Egypt is well known for e.g, papyrus, scents, spices etc I hadn’t expected the shop stops - it was a +/- in that it gave the food we tried a bit of time to settle before the next item but for me it was a tad off putting. The food we tried was good but it didn’t seem like a well formed menu/food experience. I expected traditional Egyptian food, with explanations of the history, ingredients and preparation. Big picture- I saw the Nile for the first time, the pyramids in the distance. John is a good guy, personable and sincere - I’d do it again but would have wanted to know going in it was a bit informal and the shop stuff I really didn’t care for.

On this tour we experienced both: very touristic and not touristic activities. We started the food tour not being hungry (because the breakfast at our hotel was amazing and a bit late). So first, our guide took us around Egyptian sales points: paintings on papyrus, perfume, cosmetics, spices, clothes, and leather. It was interesting, and we could stay shorter and longer. Somewhere we could talk to people, which was interesting for us. Being between these spots and driving felt super unique for us because we could observe local street life. The food we tried was Egyptian fast&street food, and was very good! We liked it and discovered new tastes which is why we booked tour in the first place. I give our particular tour 4 stars because it wasn't like a private tour in Europe where if you a guide spends 3 hours with you, you normally talk a lot to them about local life. In this case our guide was more like a driver who didn't really speak English. Which technically is fine, because actually the option selected said 'driver& food', not 'guide&food'. Overall, the experience was positive and we thank the team and wish them further growth and development 🙏

Those guys provide great service ..this tour for people who doesn't have much time so guide Ahmed took us to hidden place for Egyptian food in local places to taste like Egyptian even we tried Egyptian dessert very yummy .highly recommend

This so-called food tour was an absolute scam, and I’m deeply disappointed with how we were treated. Having experienced pushy guides in Cairo before—where they force you into shops to buy overpriced goods—we made it crystal clear to our guide, that we were here for a food tour only. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The “food tour” was a joke. Our guide spent most of the time on the phone with his manager, leaving us in the car while he went to buy food and brought it back for us to eat there. Out of the entire tour, we were only allowed to sit and eat at one actual restaurant. At one point, we were misled into thinking we were about to enjoy some hibiscus juice, only to find ourselves ambushed by aggressive salespeople. The worst part was the pressure to write a review. While still in the car, I was forced to write a glowing review on TripAdvisor at the insistence of our guides manager. I wrote a fake 4-star review because I was nervous about refusing, and I was harshly questioned as to why I didn’t give 5 stars. The tour operator bombarded me with up to 40 WhatsApp messages prior to the tour and persistent follow-ups on TripAdvisor that I still have to post my review. This was not a food tour—it was a humiliating and manipulative experience. Save yourself the disappointment and money and avoid this scam at all costs.

Amazing food tour, all places we visited were so welcoming and friendly. The food tasted amazing and I was definitely full at the end of the night!

Eslam was terrific. He showed me Old and New Cairo in between eating at different local spots. He was very informative and the food was delicious!

I was disappointed with this tour. I don't have any photos to post because we spent almost the entire time in the back of a van parked on the side of the street. While we were in the van, the tour guide visited several local food vendors and brought food back to the van. The food was mediocre. The van was cramped so it was not ideal for spending a long period of time. Near the end of the tour, we were taken to an authentic coffee shop where the tour guide left us after a few minutes. Before leaving, I inquired as to whether it was typical for women to visit these types of coffee shops and the tour guide responded no. I was left to wonder why he would then bring our group, consisting of two women, to a place that was not frequented by women.

Great tour guide Bishoo! We got off the plane and didn't want to waste the first evening here as we had a short trip. He Took us to parts of Cairo we would never have explored by ourselves. Tasted some great food - he was very patient and planned the evening perfectly. We had a felucca ride at sunset and tasted koshari. He was keen to give us the best first impression of Cairo

If you are interested in egyptian local food and secret place in cairo and old part . Book this tour . This is a must to do .a great way to enjoy life in cairo and see locals in street and how they eat .they provide an amazing service with nice walk in old cairo beside mosque .
