Great day out, knowledgeable, kind and funny guide, amazing destination to absolutely not miss out on.
It was an incredible experience at one of the most beautiful places in the UK, definitely highly recommended!
We went on the Sunday of a Bank Holiday weekend in May so it was a busy destination but still a good experience. Our Guide was Paul and we left from Bournemouth. Paul was a terrific guide and gave an excellent commentary both to and from the destination. He also frequently drives this tour so knew the short cuts to take to avoid trains and traffic. Paul also drove us to the top of Durdle Door so we didn’t have to climb all the way up to the start of it. He also made sure we all had a comfort break before starting the trek to Durdle Door. I can’t emphasize enough that you need to wear running shoes as it is slippery gravel in many places and steep. I was astounded at how many people wore flip flops or sandals! If it is a warm day wear light coloured clothing made of natural fibres and shorts and t-shirts or loose fitting skirt. Do not wear black or dark colours that soak up the sun and heat. Apply a good quality sunscreen as the ozone layer above has been damaged due to military experiments in the past and people get nasty burns. Take a water bottle as well. Do not take a bike, stroller or extra items and if you do bring a lock to lock it to a fence at the top. If you ignore this advice you will regret it. The trek is not easy and not for anyone who has trouble walking, walking steep inclines or out of shape. It is a long trek as well so be aware. However, the views are spectacular! We decided not to trek down to the beach so if you want to do this be prepared for more treks down and back up again! We had a terrific experience but I read the reviews and the excursion recommendations first and we followed them so we didn’t have any issues.
This was our first guided tour and our tour guide, Paul, made the experience much more than it would've been on our own. Paul's humour and knowledge allowed us to be able to relax and ensured we did not miss anything we wanted to see and do. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
Paul was a lovely guide. Was very knowledgeable very helpful very punctual and very friendly and easy to chat with. Highly recommend Paul.
Wear good trainers as it’s down and up a hill with a very loose stone path! Parking is expensive for a car it’s just over £3 for an hour £12.40 for up to 4 hours and £20 all day till 9pm
Paul, our tour guide and driver was very knowledgeable and funny. He even offered to pick us up near our hotel and he dropped us off! The actual tour of the area was very windy and a rugged terrain. The rocky trails are quite treacherous, so much so that a lady fell on a trail. Take extreme caution when walking around.
A convenient way to see the Jurassic Coast world heritage site for those short on time and without their own vehicle. There are a few central Bournemouth pickup points so do message the tour operator to choose the closest one. Paul gave us all the info we needed to get around the sites and the time we had was sufficient. We were fortunate to enjoy good weather (which really makes the difference at Lulworth Cove). My only suggested improvement is that a quick photostop at Lulworth Castle would have been nice since we were already in the vicinity.
Paul did a wonderful job explaining the history of the area and stopping at places which were beautiful and interesting. He made sure I understood how to navigate the trails safely and generally made the experience enjoyable and memorable.
Really enjoyed the experience which was full of interesting scenery & vistas. Paul our guide was excellent throughout The terrain around Lulworth Cove was challenging & anyone with mobility issues would struggle with it, irrespective of age
