We arrange the drive through Trip Advisor and soon before the trip we were contacted by our friendly tour guide Karim from Tangiers PATITO Tours. What can I say about Karim. He was so wonderful. So helpful in planning our perfect day trip. From camel rides on Achakkar Beach, Cap Spartel, gorgeous rug shopping with Muhammed (A MUST STOP), then a visit to a. holistic botanist with fragrances of saffron and cinnamon and the the Prickly Pear oil elixir that is from the gods. Karim knows the Medina or souk very well and is extremely knowledgeable. He made my husband and I feel completely at ease and told us that we are at his beck and call for a further Tangiers related inquiries and further trips for which we would love to plan soon. Du to our excessive shipping we did miss our ferry and of course Karim had no problem arranging at his cost our next ferry out. That certainly is a well designed private excursion day to Tangiers. We had an amazing private day trip from Malaga to Tangier with Karim. Everything was well organized from start to finish. Transportation was arranged from Malaga to Tarifa and back—a roughly two-hour drive each way—and our ferry tickets were handled for us, making the trip completely stress-free. In Tangier, Karim (with Abdul driving) showed us both the old and new parts of the city, giving us a great overview of local history and culture. We enjoyed breakfast and a delicious lunch. One of the highlights was riding camels, which made for a fun and memorable experience. Karim guided us through the souk helping us navigate the many shops and vendors and took us to see specialty rug, textile and beauty/spice stores. . He even had another guide join us to help keep an eye on my 82 yr old mother and help to carry her bags. A tip for future travelers: let Karim know in advance what kinds of shops or experiences interest you most and what you’d prefer to skip. He is very accommodating and can tailor the day to your interests. Karim was very communicative through the whole process. He reached out well before the trip to find out what we were interested in seeing. He gave us step by step instructions for the transportation and ferry. Having a knowledgeable local guide made all the difference for a stress free day. The only downside was that there was so much to see and shop for that we wish we had had more time in the markets! We highly recommend this tour with Karim to anyone looking for an easy and memorable day trip from Spain to Morocco.

I would highly recommend this tour. It was way more than I expected- I saw so much & learned a lot. The whole tour went smoothly, from our pickup at our hotel, to the ferry & back again. Karim is extremely knowledgeable about Tangier as a city & as his home. He personalized the tour for us & our likes. He was in touch before the tour to ask about our preferences for the tour and after the tour to follow up & make sure we enjoyed the tour & were ok. I felt extremely safe on this tour & the people Karim introduced us to were very hospitable. While shopping, I did not feel any pressure to buy & no guilt if I didn’t buy. Karim took us to some amazing, authentic places to eat and also for a fantastic camel ride. It was a full day, but so worth it. Memories of a lifetime were made.

Our Tangier Tour with Karim was amazing! My friend and I both had a wonderful time. We were able to get a taste of the best spots in Tangier in one day. The drive back and forth from Malaga was comfortable and safe and crossing the border was seamless. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Morocco is a beautiful country and I wish I could have stayed longer!

Awesome experience with Karim. Very well organized tour with personal interests in mind. From our private ride to the port, the tour of Tangier, including the camel ride on the beach, & back again, everything ran smoothly. He showed us the highlights of Tangier & gave us a history of the area. Karim shared his personal experience from living in Tangier and his favorite local restaurants & places to shop in the casbah. He answered questions before & during the tour. Karim is committed to providing a warm, welcoming personal tour and did an amazing job! It was a day I will never forget.

PROS As soon as the trip was booked Karim was in contact with my aunt (who booked the trip) to discuss ferry times and wha we wanted to experience. The trip from Malaga to Morocco was amazing. We were picked up at our hotel and driven to the ferry dock. We arrived in Morocco and Majid (tour guide) and Abdul (driver) met us right away. We toured the city. Visited the place where the Mediterranean Sea met the Atlantic, Visited camels (ride was included but we opted out) and went to the market. CONS We were not taken to the souks. Our tour guide explained that many items that were sold in the souks were made in China. He had 2 markets to take us to where we could purchase items that were made in Morocco and where we would not overpay. My aunt bought 2 silver bracelets and I bought 2 rings and 2 bracelets. We paid more than DOUBLE what they were worth. I understand that this was our fault. We should have researched more and followed the feeling in our gut. We both felt that it was too much. We were rushed for time and let the beauty of the country and our trust in the guide blind us. Again, I know that we made the mistake. However, I believe were were given a false sense of security that the guide would make sure we were not over charged. We were also charged too much for cactus oil products. However, we are more accepting of that because in the States I understand quality skincare is expensive. If it doesn’t work as promised I will add to this review. CONCLUSION Go on this tour. It was amazing. BUT do your research on purchasing whatever you are looking to buy. Don’t make the same MISTAKE we did. EDIT Karim contacted my aunt stating that we should have been taken to the souks since that was part of the whole experience. He stated his displeasure at what happened and said that he would talk to our guide about what happened at the “government store” and at the place where we bought cactus oil products. Also, at the government store we also tipped the helper at the request of the people selling the jewelry. When we had time to think about this it was like we paid their young apprentice in addition to way overpaying for the jewelry. Again, we really had a great time on the whole excursion UNTIL we were taken to the shops. We were taken advantage of, especially at the “government store.” It is 100% our fault for not listening to our “gut” feeling. However, we still believe that we should have never been put into that situation.

Our Malaga → Tangier tour was absolutely fantastic! Karim was an exceptional guide—friendly, funny, and full of local knowledge. He took us through the Medina, Kasbah, and souks, making sure we had time to enjoy shopping for crafts, spices, and souvenirs. The camel ride along the beach was a highlight, and Karim made it both fun and safe. He also guided us to the best spots to try Moroccan food—fresh pastries, street snacks, and traditional dishes that were delicious. Transportation was seamless from Malaga to Tangier. The ferry crossing was smooth, and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Abdullah, our driver, was calm, skilled, and made the journey stress-free. Thanks to Patito Tours and Karim, everything ran perfectly. This tour is a must-do if you’re visiting Tangier from Malaga!

Seamless trip to Tangier from pick-up to drop-off! What a day! 4 of us were picked up by our condo (we are from the US and Canada) at 7:15 am by Gerald in a mercedes van that was very comfortable for all 4 of us - 2 guys are 6 ft 4”. We were provided very clear directions on WhatsApp of what to do from when Gerald dropped us off at the ferry terminal to when Jasmine picked us up on the other side of the ferry. At first, when reading the instructions, I didn’t get what people miss - and - then we saw it - many people missed getting their passports stamped while ON the ferry - however, our instructions were incredibly clear to ensure we got it stamped. Then we were picked up by the driver (Abdul) and Jasmine and a wonderful day that was customized along the way to our interests and abilities. There were 2 meals and we could not believe the quality of the food and service! Jasmine was extremely knowledgeable about all of the stops and was very attentive to what we wanted to do and kept course correcting. (We are not shoppers and had a person with us who had a bit of a walking issue). At the end, no time was spared, yet we weren’t rushing, to get to the ferry to go home, and Gerald was there waiting for us and got us right to our door. Seeing the culture, the camels, learning the history and experiencing the fabulous food and shopping areas was incredible. A special thank you to this team!

My family had an awesome experience. We can’t say enough goods things about Karim our tour guide and his company. Everything went well with the pickup in Malaga, the ferry to tanger, the tour of tanger was amazing, the ferry ride back to tarifa and our ride home to Malaga. Karim customized the tour to our family’s needs and wants. He was in contact with me early in the process to see how we wanted our day to go and remained in contact over the next several months. It was everything we had asked for. Our whole group loved the camel rides on the beach. What a unique experience. The tour of tanger was informative and interesting. We loved exploring the Medina area and the souks The food we had in tanger were very good. The views and food for breakfast were great and the Moroccan lunch was amazing. Both restaurants accommodated any food needs. It was a very full and long day but so worth the price. My grandkids will never forget their first experience in Africa.

We had the best time with our tour guides, Karim and Hamza. Karim showed us around Tangier and the Old Medina. He is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and made everything feel effortless. Transportation was easy, as both drivers we encountered (Abdul and Muhammad) were prompt and polite. I spent my birthday in Morocco, and this team truly went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. For example, on the first day, Karim had the restaurant bring me a birthday desert. Throughout our time in Morocco, they had arranged suprise birthday gifts/experiences from vendors along the way, and made sure every thing I hoped for actually happened. Hamza was just as thoughtful and a genuine pleasure to be around while showing us around Chefchaouen. Between the two of them, they took amazing photos, help us with our bags, negotiated prices, showed us to the best lookout/picture spots, and handled every other possible detail so we could truly relax and enjoy ourselves. They treated us like family. Our trip genuinely would not have been the same without them. I cannot express how grateful and happy I am to the whole team.
