We are genuinely very sorry for your disappointment, especially after travelling such a long way and booking two nights with us. We completely understand how frustrating this must have felt. However, we must respectfully clarify that our cancellation decisions are never influenced by cruise ship arrivals or prioritising other guests. Safety and the realistic chances of delivering a worthwhile experience are always the deciding factors. In Arctic winter, conditions can vary dramatically across short distances and forecasts can change quickly, particularly regarding road safety, ice, snow, and visibility. While the skies may have appeared clear from Svolvær later in the evening, our decisions are made earlier using multiple forecasts, live road reports, local knowledge, and conditions across the wider region where tours may operate. Unfortunately, there are nights where local clear skies do not translate into safe or viable conditions for a long-duration aurora chase. We fully appreciate that a refund cannot replace the experience you hoped for, and we are truly sorry we could not provide the evening you were looking forward to.
