Pedra do Sal er et af de smukkeste steder i området kendt som Lille Afrika. Beware! they may cancel tour last minute. Booked 10 days ahead. On tour day, Bruno reached out to request a 1 hr delayed. Then 2 hrs before the tour, he cancels with a cancel msg “Sorry we have to cancel because it’s going to rain”. Despite the cancellation, I still went to Pedra do Sal solo. Upon arrival, I saw crowds of people, heard the samba band and had tremendous fun. No rain in sight. So be cautious in booking this tour because they fail to provide reliability, consideration and business integrity.
We're sorry that this experience did not meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating a last-minute cancellation can be, especially after booking well in advance. However, our decision was based entirely on the weather forecasts available throughout the day and our responsibility to provide guests with a safe and enjoyable experience. Pedra do Sal is a completely outdoor event with no weather protection, and the area is known for flooding, slippery surfaces, and interruptions to the samba gatherings during periods of heavy rain. Throughout the day, the major weather forecasting services consistently predicted rainfall during the event hours, which is why we closely monitored the conditions and ultimately made the difficult decision to cancel. It's important to note that we had no reason or incentive to cancel the tour. Like any tour operator, we prefer to run our experiences as scheduled. Cancelling impacts our guests, our guides, and our business. The only reason we ever cancel is when we genuinely believe that proceeding could compromise guest safety or significantly reduce the quality of the experience. Weather forecasts are not always perfect. In this case, we're genuinely pleased that the rain did not arrive and that you were able to enjoy your evening at Pedra do Sal. However, our responsibility is to make decisions based on the information available at the time, not on what becomes clear afterward. While we understand your disappointment, we stand by our commitment to prioritizing guest safety and experience above all else. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we're glad you were still able to enjoy the samba that evening.
This is a must do tour, I feel like if this is the first tour you should do as soon as you get to Rio. It introduced me to Brazil the real Brazil. I will actually makes this an annual event for me it was amazing! And let me not forget my tour guide Lena, she is full of knowledge and has a great spirit. Let's just say when we was done I left with a friend. Thanks Lena

Had a great time, Lena was supern informative, loved hearing all the history behind samba including it's connection to favela communities. Make sure to bring some comfortable clothes (shorts. Loose shirt) if you're going in summer. Because it will be super hot. Met good people and would definitely come back again.

This was an unforgettable authentic night out in Rio!! Our tourguides Gustavo and Matheus were fantastic and really cool people to go out with but were also very knowledgeable about the history of Pedra do Sal. Overall I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone, even more for solo travelers who are looking for a fun group to go out with. This place is a must-see if you come to Rio!

Amazing experience! Lena, our guide, knows all about the samba history. It was enriching. Food and drink around the route are of the best quality. We arrived in advance at the previously agreed meeting point and then we could taste wonderful quitutes and the famous Gomes angu. During the presentation of the samba wheel, Lena put us in the "gargarejo" and was always very present, attentive, cordial and available to make the evening perfect. I highly recommend.
