På denne tur besøger vi Belém, et af de mest charmerende områder i Lissabon, og lærer også lidt mere om de portugisiske opdagelser. Portugal var det første globale imperium i verden, og alt startede i dette dejlige distrikt kaldet Belém. Fartøjer forlod sine havne for at navigere gennem det ukendte, over for det farlige Ocean for at opdage nyt land, bygge kirker og forter for at gøre Portugal til det første globale imperium i historien. Belém anses også for at være et af de smukkeste steder i byen med sine mange historiske bygninger og berømte UNESCO-arvsteder, Jeronimos-klosteret og Belém-tårnet. Begge blev idealiseret af kong D. Manuel I og bygget i en unik arkitekturstil, der bliver kendt som "Manuelinstilen". Vi vil også se det utrolige monument for opdagelserne, det imponerende præsidentpalads, Afonso de Albuquerque-pladsen, Beléms haver, CBB, kompasrosen og Pastéis de Belém.

Tiago is one of the best guides we’ve ever had, among many walking tours around the world. He brings history to life, using today’s language and metaphors on what could otherwise seem like boring tales of the past. He is attentive to everyone in the group. Our tour was canceled by tour operator. Apparently, not enough people sign up for Lisbon Walking Tour - Discover Belem and the Discoveries Age. Can’t rate it as we never took tour. A bit disappointed.
That's a very unfair review Angela. I reached you out one day before to let you know about the cancellation, as we need at least 4 people to run the tour and offer you some alternatives, but none of them suited your needs. If you can't rate, you should not give a 1 star review. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Tiago was an amazing tour guide, and Belem was a fantastic area of Lisbon to visit. Loved everything about this tour... the monastery, the history, the location near the river, the world map near the Tower, and of course the special stop for pasteis de nata. And my friend loved that there were no cobblestones and hills. Don't miss this tour!!

The tour was good but James talked way too fast for us. I asked him twice to slow down and he would for two minutes and Ryan go fast again. We had a hard time understanding first his accent and than how fast it was being presented. He said he was a teacher so slow down consistently so we can get all of the information. My friend only understood 20% while I got 50% of what he said. We really appreciated the information on the elevators, that was extremely important as we are staying in the Alfalma region. We also disliked the political ending to his tour. Stick to history and it would be fantastic. Thank you for the tour, we learned a lot!
