The boat trip itself had all the ingredients for a wonderful experience. The views of Lisbon from the water were stunning, and the tour guide responsible for the announcements and commentary was warm, knowledgeable and genuinely lovely throughout. Unfortunately, none of that could make up for the behaviour we witnessed from the crew operating the boat. The conduct of the men steering the vessel was, without exaggeration, the most inappropriate I have ever encountered from people working in the tourism industry. Their behaviour was so erratic and unprofessional that several of us were left with the impression that they may have been under the influence of something. What made the situation particularly disturbing was that several members of our group speak Portuguese — something the crew was clearly unaware of — meaning we understood the comments they were making among themselves. When some of us tried to take photos, it was naturally difficult to completely exclude the crew from the background given that this is an open boat where passengers and staff are all relatively close together. Rather than simply asking us not to include him in our photos, one crew member (the person responsible for steering the boat) repeatedly showed us his middle finger and explicitly threatened to “chop our heads off” and throw our phones into the water if we continued taking pictures. The situation went far beyond rude or unprofessional behaviour. Racist remarks were made about members of our group based on their perceived origins, alongside sexist comments that created an increasingly tense and uncomfortable atmosphere on board. When we raised our concerns with the tour guide, she approached the captain below deck about what was happening. His response was to speak aggressively to her while grabbing her with enough force that she had to repeatedly ask him to let go. Watching a member of staff being physically handled like this by her own colleague was deeply concerning, and she too was visibly made to feel unsafe by the very people she works alongside. Several women in our group were also approached in ways that made them uncomfortable, including crew members forcing themselves into photos with them and making unwanted advances, such as asking for their phone numbers. The behaviour we witnessed was racist, sexist, threatening and, at times, physically intimidating. It is completely unacceptable in any professional environment. The tour guide deserves far better colleagues, and future guests deserve far better than this. I urge the operator to take immediate and serious action. We will not be staying silent about what we experienced.

THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. BROUGHT MY FAMILY AND THREE BOYS AND THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. NO EMAIL. NO CALL. NO TEXT. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They changed the boarding location and emailed about all that but no contact about being late or not showing up. Pitiful. Damn you for making me wait in the sun with my young kids.

Excellent experience!! The boat is authentic, you go in a quite small group with more personalized attention, in your own language. The guide was pleasant and interesting. It is a more authentic and local way to do the cruise on the Tagus, which is a beauty. It is worth it!!!👌👌

It was a lovely experience. We know the city very well but the traditional boat ride was wonderful. Guide was lovely as was the ambience, with great music!

We booked a boat tour for 4.30pm. Whhich got cancelled one hour before the start time. Obviously didnt have enough bookings. I gave it a 3 as we were offered a sunset tour which i would recommend but again we set off 50 mins after we were due to set off. The trip along the river very nice especially with the sunset. Wecwere able to do this as we changed are plans to accomodate. So when booking a trip try and get assurances that they will not cancel tour bookings

There was no narrative of things we were seeing. We enjoyed being on the water and feeling the breeze after a long travel day. Your started 1/2 hour late and was not guided.

Unfortunately our experience didn’t match the really good reviews. The start location was changed which was fine, but the boat showed up 30 mins after we were meant to depart, with no communication. This caused a lot of confusion. When we did board, there was no guide or communication at all - the boat simply travelled up and down the river. The boat is lovely but without a guide it’s hard to describe this as a sightseeing cruise! If it is a non-guided cruise it needs to be described as such.

Not your standard touristic boat cruise, neatly seated in rows among 30 retired people - this one felt really authentic and relaxing. The kind that just makes you want to lay down on the wooden deck, watch the blue sky and let yourself be rocked by the waves. It was a truly beautiful cruise on both sides of the river. The staff was very kind and did a (non invasive) and instructive commentary in 3 languages.

It was an enjoyable cruise with a good commentary. The crew was very helpful and generous with the wine. It was well worth it.
