Stop: Fri tid Óbidos er en charmerende middelalderby i det centrale Portugal, kendt for sine velbevarede slottets mure, stenede gader og hvidvaskede huse prydet med farverige blomster. En gang en bryllupsgave til dronning Urraca i 1210, blev det kendt som "byen af dronninger" og forblev en del af den kongelige donation i århundreder. Besøgende kan spadsere gennem sine smalle smug, udforske den historiske slot-turned-inn, og nyde lokale specialiteter som den berømte Ginjinha de Óbidos - en kirsebærlikør ofte serveret i en chokolade kop. Jose was amazing! He picked us up from Lisbon to take us to Porto. My mom had purchased and accidentally broken a piece of pottery the day before in Alfama, the highest neighborhood in Lisbon. She asked if Jose would take us there before we started our drive so she could buy a new piece. He was very kind and accommodating. His English is excellent, and we enjoyed talking to him! We chose two stops during the day, and he gave us excellent directions about what we should see and how to find him when we were finished. Even though the tour was technically booked for a set number of hours, he was very flexible with time and urged us not to hurry. At each of our two stops, he walked with us into a shop and got us samples of traditional Portuguese snacks, which we greatly enjoyed. Jose said he isn't a history expert, but he sure knew and was willing to share a lot! We plan to recommend Jose to other traveler friends of ours, and if we return to Portugal, we'll be calling him. We had a lovely, full day from Lisbon to Porto with Ricardo. He met us at our hotel and was on time as scheduled. Despite us needing a few minutes to get our things together, Ricardo was very patient. We set off on our trip, and Ricardo gave us some options for places we could stop along the way. Although we thought we had an idea, his suggestions and descriptions helped us make a more informed decision. We stopped at Obidos and Aveiro. Ricardo is a Portugal native and was very knowledge and informative. The van was very clean and comfortable. He was so nice and knew many special restaurants and stores off the beaten path for us to visit. He also snapped a bunch of candid photos of our family and sent them to me at the end of the day. He was truly so thoughtful and kind. We really enjoyed our day with Ricardo!

Best decision we made for our trip to Portugal was taking this shuttle from Lisbon to Porto with the three stops. Joe told us so much history and had a great soundtrack for the ride. The van was also comfortable where we were able to nap in between stops. Worth the extra vacation funds to see so much in one day with an expert, at your own schedule, with bathroom stops as needed. His drink and food recommendations en route were fabulous and gave us tips for Porto too.

My wife Christina and I spent a day touring with Miguel on our way from Lisbon to Porto, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Miguel was friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to spend the day with. He took us through Óbidos, Nazaré, and Fátima, sharing local history and showing us places and viewpoints we likely would have never found on our own. We almost didn’t book the trip because of the price tag when compared to just taking a train from Lisbon to Porto. It’s worth it for the private driver and the opportunity to see these towns. Above all what we appreciated most was that the day never felt rushed. Miguel was very relaxed and adjusted the experience to our interests. It felt less like a guided tour and more like spending the day with a local friend that wanted to show you some of the hot spots! I highly recommend Miguel to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to travel between Lisbon and Porto!

This was one of our favorite days in Portugal. We were looking for transportation between Lisbon and Porto and considered just a regular transfer, train and flight. Then we stumbled upon this option and it was so good that I think we’re going to be doing this every time we’re moving between cities on vacation. Tiago was one of the friendliest guides /drivers we ever had. He did a great job of making sure we had a great time. Would highly recommend this tour and if you’re able ask for Tiago directly.
