I travelled by coach then on to the ferry great experience travelling through the night great host friendly coach drivers met lovely people great company had a great time site seeing in Lille The Old Town
Excellent tour by a very knowledgeable guide (Raphy) gave us loads of advice on places to visit & restaurants. Really pleasant guy with a very approachable personality.
Our 2 hour guided walk with Raphy was wonderful. Lille has so many more hidden stories and interesting architecture than we had first appreciated. The walk was flat and an easy stroll, even on the cobblestones. Raphy was very attentive with stairs, traffic, shade etc. The Lille Cathedral was a highlight - having seen it from the outside we probably wouldn’t have entered! Understanding some of the history and architecture of this highly unusual cathedral was terrific. We also appreciated Raphy’s (comprehensive!) list of recommended ‘things to do and see” in Lille.
Raphy is a great guide, knoweldgebale and funny, we had a great time and learnt a lot about Lille. Raffy also gave us some fabulous restaurant recommendations, highly recommend
Our tour guide, Raphy, started off the experience on a good foot by taking the time to send a message to us ahead of time to be able to find out our interests so he could prepare the tour to be tailored to our family. He did a fantastic job of intertwining stories from the past to the present and painting a picture of how the city has changed over time. He also told stories of what it’s like to live in the city as a local, and pointed out lots of fun, unique Easter Eggs hidden in the architecture of the city. He provided several excellent recommendations on where to go and what to do around the city after the tour. Overall, Raphy made sure the tour was very easygoing and a light environment, with well delivered and tangible information.
Although our guide was lovely, after touring Brussels, Brugge, Ghent, and Antwerp, Lille did not have the same historical interest or sites. Had we realized this in advance, we would not have gone there.

My wife and & I with our daughter and her 3 month old son had a very interesting and enjoyable tour of the old city of Lille. Ann was an excellent guide and ensured that we went at a pace that was comfortable for us with the baby. She had made some delicious jams made to an old Lillois recipe for us to sample. Highly recommended.
We had a new guide. Very sweet, appeared to be prepared. English was a challenge. This made the tour hard to enjoy. She did all she could to make it enjoyable but without good language skills, it did not work out.
Raphy was so engaging and knowledgeable! We were also given detailed recommendations for after the tour based on what we were hoping to do. Such a fun way to see Lille and learn about its unique history and architecture; would highly recommend.
