Kumeus vingårde går tilbage til 1930'erne, hvor vinfamilier af kroatisk oprindelse etablerede vinfremstilling i området. Disse familier bor og arbejder stadig i området i dag, hvilket gør nogle af New Zealands mest berømte vine. Disse vinmarker står i kontrast til det spektakulære kystlandskab i området. Efterlad travlheden i byen Auckland og kør mod nordvest for at deltage i vores eftermiddagsvintur og smag på smagene fra Kumeu Wine Country, Aucklands Heritage Wine Region. Nyd frokosten på en moderne vingårdsrestaurant, smag verdensberømte vine og undre dig over den robuste surffringede kystlinje i nærheden. Dit første stop er ved Soljans Vineyard. Soljans har vundet mange priser for deres vin, og de er også anerkendt i New Zealand som værende en ekspertproducent af mousserende vin (flaskefermenteret). Nyd frokost og en vinsmagning på restaurant Soljans Winery. Vingården er bygget med solskin i tankerne og serverer mad i middelhavsstil med et New Zealand-twist, der viser friske sæsonbestemte produkter fra hele regionen.
En kort køretur fører os til vores næste vingård, som er Kumeu River. Oprettet af familien Brajkovich i 1940'erne alle deres druer er hånd høstet og vingården drives stadig af familien (Michael Brajkovich var New Zealands første mester i vin!). Kumeu River er verdensberømt for deres Chardonnay og producerer også en række andre vine.
Besøg Muriwai Beachs sorte sand - se sulerne flyve væk i det fjerne, og nyd udsigten over denne fantastiske surfstrand (Gannet-koloniadgang vil forhåbentlig genåbne på et tidspunkt, men i øjeblikket ikke tilgængelig
Din sidste vinsmagning er på West Brook Winery. West Brook-kælderdøren ser på tværs af en idyllisk andedam og terrasseret picnicområde for at række efter række med vinstokke. Vinene afspejler ægte sortskarakter og deres unikke regionale oprindelse. Uden undtagelse er de førsteklasses kvalitet og har vundet adskillige priser. This was a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting at 3 wineries which included a delicious lunch. We were given several choices for lunch which included a glass of wine. We also went to the Tasman sea to observe the gnat birds. The views were stunning and lots of opportunities to take photos. Erin our guide was prompt very knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating. It was a lovely afternoon and I highly recommend as no worries re transport and all tastings arranged ahead of time. A lovely day!

The best and most professional tour ever. Our guide Jason was fantastic, knowledgeable and funny. The wineries were great and the wines very good. Very much recommended. Modern and comfortable vehicle.

What a lovely tour to do..my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our driver guide Erin was fantastic! The wineries were divine, the lunch was fabulous, and our trip to the gannet colony with the breathtaking views was magical..highly recommend and would book this tour again when I come back to Auckland. Loved it!

The wine region in NZ is small but mighty, with many wonderful wines and beautiful vineyards. We loved the local chardonnay and flew home with some tawny ports. Kelley was incredibly knowledgeable and made our tour special.

4 wineries visited along with other noteworthy areas of interest outside of Auckland showing us the beauty of the coastline and local birds. Wineries well chosen. Meredith (our guide) very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. She was always on time and went out of her way to make it a meaningful day. The day was so informative and fun. Skipping this would have been a mistake.

Jason was a great guide for both the wine region as well as having an in depth knowledge of the native environment. We had a great time with the three wineries we toured. The lunch was amazing! The side trip to the beach was a great break in between tastings. His recommendations for local Auckland restaurants was spot on. We would highly recommend this small intimate tour of boutique wineries.
Catriona was our guide on the day & made this tour so much fun; she has a bubbly personality & is very knowledgeable. It was a lovely day & we enjoyed our visits to the 3 very different wineries, the first one including lunch. We spent a reasonable time at each one, sipping our salubrious wines & chatting amiably within our small group. The absolute highlight for us was our visit to the black sand beach where a great galaxy of gannets were nesting; simply stunning!
A very pleasant afternoon of wine and wildlife watching. The wine tastings were quite varied and well-paced. Delicious lunch with no wait. The gannet colony is so interesting… the time there goes fast!
