Tarpon Feeding stop er langt fra en af højdepunkterne på turen. Vi vil gerne sige, at hvis du ikke er helt vågen endnu, er dette det stop, der er garanteret at få dit hjerte til at pumpe! Tarpon er massive fisk, der kan vokse op til 8 fod lange og vejer så meget som 300 pounds. Fodring af disse springende giganter er en uforglemmelig oplevelse, du absolut ikke vil gå glip af, når du besøger Caye Caulker.
Belize Barrier Reef er cirka 287 miles lang. På en heldagstur fra Caye Caulker vil du udforske kun en lille del af dens storhed. Vores næste stop er kun 8 minutter væk fra Caye Caulker, hvor vi vil søge 2 til 3 hovedområder af revet for manatees. Når vi er fundet, vil vi snorkle med dem - naturligvis - samtidig med at vi opretholder en respektfuld afstand og undgår enhver berøring eller chikane af disse majestætiske skabninger. Hvis vi ikke er heldige i starten, vil vi fortsætte til andre stop og prøve igen på vores vej tilbage til Caye Caulker.
Næste stop er koralhaven. Dette er hvor du vil snorkle og udforske i dit eget tempo - uanset om du foretrækker at gå alene eller med en rejsekammerat eller partner, uanset dit erfaringsniveau. Selvom Koralhaven ligger uden for det beskyttede område, behandler vi alle snorklingstop med samme omhu og respekt. Det betyder ikke at stå på, røre koraller, eller samle noget fra revet. Coral Garden er hjemsted for en bred vifte af smukke flora og fauna, herunder havskildpadder, stingrays, sygeplejerske hajer, ørnstråler, moray ål, og mange forskellige typer af fisk, samt et fantastisk udvalg af koralformationer i alle former, størrelser og farver.
Vores lille version af Titanic - den Sunken Barge - er omkring 40 fod lang og 20 fod bred. Det har været en unik attraktion i mange år, takket være det brede udvalg af koraller og fisk, der har gjort det til deres hjem. Selvom det dækker et lille område, er det utroligt interessant på sin egen måde. Som en stor, hule struktur, du aldrig vide, hvad der kan være gemt inde i eller under det - såsom massive moray æsler, sygeplejerske hajer, skildpadder og løvefisk. Efter mere end 30 år under vandet er båden nu smukt indpakket med en levende blanding af hårde og bløde koraller, hvilket tilføjer sin charme og økologisk betydning.
Derefter, når vi kommer ind i Hol Chan Marine Reserve, ankommer vi til Shark og Ray Alley - en af de mest sjove og spændende snorkel stop. Sygeplejerskehajer, som er blandt de mest lydige hajer i vores reef, er de eneste arter af hajer, der almindeligt findes i dette område. De deler vandet med sydlige stingrays og en række fisk, der alle drager fordel af den begrænsede chumming tilladt i denne udpegede del af reservatet. Så snart et fartøj kommer ind, begynder hajerne at følge efter, og forventer mad. Og så snart vi binder vores båd til en af bue-linjerne, samles de i nærheden af stern på styrebrættets side, hvirvler rundt i forventning om sardiner. Disse hajer kan let ses om bord, da de kommer meget tæt på båden - men selvfølgelig inviterer vi dig til at hoppe ind og gøre oplevelsen virkelig uforglemmelig.
Hol Chan-kanalen er den første zone i reservatet, der er beskyttet, dateret tilbage til 1987. Denne kanal er fyldt med marine liv og tilbyder en utrolig snorkling oplevelse. Da vi nu er inde i et beskyttet område, strenge regler gælder for alle, der kommer ind og snorkle her. Alle gæster skal følge deres guide til enhver tid, da kanalen lejlighedsvis kan have stærke strømme og flere grupper af snorkelere i området. Under snorklen vil din guide også give uddannelsesmæssige indsigter om marint liv. Han eller hun vil dykke ned og, når de dukker op igen, identificere og navngive forskellige fisk og koralarter, så alle har mulighed for at lære mere om det undervandsøkosystem. Dette stop tager typisk omkring 30 til 40 minutter, afhængigt af forholdene. Sikkerhed er altid vores højeste prioritet – men selvfølgelig ønsker vi også, at alle skal have det sjovt.

We had an incredible tour with black hawk tours. The guides and captain Al and EJ were both knowledgeable and environmentally aware. They are passionate to show you the reef while keeping diligent to protect the reefs biodiversity. They are super fun and made the trip even more amazing we were so lucky to see manatees, nurse sharks, eagle rays and turtles along with many beautiful fish species . My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience today on our Hol Chan Marine Reserve tour with Blackhawk Tours. Kelvin was very friendly and helpful explaining everything to us the day before the tour so we knew exactly how to prepare prior to the tour. Our tour was led by Al and Daniel who both offered an amazing and fun experience with their professionalism, overall knowledge and hospitality. We were given a perfect amount of time at each stop of the tour and were fully able to enjoy and take advantage of each experience offered. With opportunities to see many different species of fish, Sting Rays, Sea Turtles, Sharks and even a Manatee, this tour offered incredible and unforgettable experiences. Lunch, drinks and fruit were served onboard and everyone was given time to be able to take a break and eat during the tour. Overall I would recommend this tour 100 % ! Thank you to Kelvin, Al, Daniel and the entire Blackhawk Tours team for allowing my girlfriend and I to have such a memorable and outstanding experience in Belize.

We signed up for this tour thinking it was primarily Hol Chan and Shark Alley, but it was so much more. Allwin and EJ did a great job providing multiple experiences and ensuring we saw some great marine life. Highly recommend!

The last day of our special birthday trip to Caye Caulker was spent on the boat with the best tour/snorkling guides, Al and EJ from Blackhawk Tours! They were super cool guys, very fun and very knowledgeable. We saw everything and more than we were promised, including the most beautiful male and female couple of manatees that let us just float along and hang out with them in the water for as long as we wanted. EJ is an expert diver, safely drawing hidden animals out from their camouflage and explaining everything in great detail. And the lunch, fruit, and rum punch were perfect! Couldn’t imagine a better day, and an extremely competitive price as well. Do yourself a favor and book with these guys! Walk into the office and chat with Kelvin, he’ll hook you up!

Fantastic tour, didn’t love the shark feedings (bad for wildlife) but the guides were kind and passionate about conservation. They did everything in their power to make sure we had the best experience possible, and I appreciated the smaller size of the group seeing what some of the other boats out there looked like

We had an amazing full day snorkelling trip with Blackhawk Tours Belize and would highly recommend it. Al kept everyone laughing all day, while EJ was so informative about the marine life — they both made the whole experience fun, relaxed and professional. By the end of the day our group of 12 all felt like friends, so shout out to everyone for making it such a great day! They were also incredibly kind and attentive to my mother, who was a little less confident in the water, and made her feel completely at ease throughout the trip. If you’re at all nervous about snorkelling, you’ll be in very safe hands. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, manatees, turtles, sharks, tarpons, sting rays, barracuda, coral and loads of tropical fish - truly unforgettable. Lunch was also fantastic, a plentiful homecooked packed lunch with fresh fruit afterwards. Definitely go for the baked chicken! You will also leave with several free photos and videos they take or let you take with their own GoPro. I didn’t even really need my own phone, they have you covered. Overall, a brilliantly run experience that was absolutely worth the money and one of the highlights of our Belize trip. Thank you thank you to the entire team (office team included too)!
