"Le Macchine di Leonardo", verdens største (PRIVATE) samling af Leonardo da Vinci-maskiner er født efter unge lidenskab af Carlo (født den 25. februar 1936), grundlæggeren af Niccolai-familien og virksomheden. Særligt dygtige håndværkere, medlemmerne af Niccolai-familien har indtil videre udviklet 250 forskellige modeller og 50 interaktive modeller baseret på Da Vinci-koder og på historiske dokumenter ved hjælp af materialer fra Leonardos tid: træ, metal, reb og stoffer. Ifølge de uskrevne regler for florentinske håndværkere har Carlo Niccolai givet sin passion videre til sine sønner og børnebørn, som takket være deres viden om nye teknologier har beriget samlingen med nye modeller og organiseret mere end hundrede udstillinger over hele verden i de sidste ti år. Udstillingen er på 850 kvadratmeter eksponering fordelt på tre etager

Museo Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci-maskiner udstilles i Galleria Michelangelo, hvor Macchiaioli plejede at mødes, i en af de mest berømte gader i Firenzes centrum. Mere end 50 modeller vises i fire rum: den største er dedikeret til civile maskiner, i det andet rum vises flyvemaskiner, krigsmaskiner findes i det tredje og i det fjerde kan den nyligt udviklede samling af anatomiske modeller beundret. De fleste af modellerne er rigtige arbejdsmaskiner. En dokumentar om Leonardo Da Vincis liv og værker vises på storskærme. Galleriet har en aftale med Caffé Michelangiolo, restauranten inde på udstillingsområdet. Hos boghandlen finder du mange udgivelser og gadgets.

Engaging and more interactive than we expected for the regular museum.
We really enjoyed this museum. It was astounding at times what one man explored and experimented with in his time, that has had profound impacts on our own. While this was the main DaVinci museum, it had a lot of interactive elements which was a nice surprise. We visited in mid September and there were no lines or crowds. Lovely that ticket lasts all day so you have flexibility as to when to go. We stayed about 1.5 hours.

A great 90minute opportunity to see, enjoy and even touch/try out many of the models. Adults and children alike will appeciate the works and ideas of clearly , a great man

Disappointing
For a person like Da Vinci, the museum is a letdown. Little information, too much noise from children playing with the interactive inventions.

Excellent Value, Excellent Museum
The Leonardo D Vinci Museum is one of the best values per ticket we purchased while in Italy for three weeks. The museum is well done, the exhibits well curated, the placards are we written. It was not crowded the day we were there, so we could take our time at each display. I would highly recommend.

Good experience at the museum
Very good value for money. Good to see Leonardo’s inventions and it definitely give you an insight into the mind of a genius and his life. Would recommend attending. Also the shop could do with having some Da Vinci Themed postcards!
