Let's keep this simple: if you have a young child, they will enjoy it. They will think it's cool. However, as an adult, you may not be impressed and you might believe that for the price and the time that you put into it, it's not really worth it. Legoland is an average, young child activity. But, it won't be a memory that they will remember for long.
My experience was shocking. The vendor have not helped either. On the original page of booking it DID NOT SPECIFY children only!! So, therefore when we travelled over an hour in a taxi to the LDC, we was refused entry because we didnt have a child with us. The staff were extremely rude, unhelpful and to be honest pig ignorant. Its especially disheartening when we had flown from the UK and this was the last trip we had booked (the one my wife was particularly looking forward too been a huge Lego fan) So, not only did we purchase the tickets in advance and we spent $160 in taxi fare we have been told also there is nothing they can do because the tickets were redeemed .. They wasnt as soon as they scanned them they asked us to leave. I will never use this avenue again to book another trip. Very disappointed and really upset!
It is one of the worst experiences, they do not have clear policies, I do not recommend it, I am going to create a podcast about my experience and the analysis of it from my perception. Its administration is terrible. I do not recommend it, there are other cheaper places that you can spend as a family and cheaper.
Good Visit! Our 6 year old grandson enjoyed it! We were disappointed that the elevator wasn't working and our handicapped 4 yr old grandson could not easily access the top floor. I wish the website included a little more information about that and all activities at the site. We appreciated all the available seating and that there was a Starbucks inside. Also it was nice that you could take snacks and drinks outside the snack area.
We live an hour away from Schaumburg and was looking for something to do. We been to Legoland in Florida and reading reviews I knew not to expect much here. However it was definitely worth it for a fun time for a couple of hours. Loved seeing downtown Chicago built with legos. Also enjoyed the two lego rides. The lego movie was very cool. Then remaining time was just letting the kids run wild and build legos. I would say its for kids 10 years and younger for sure. If you’re a tourist visiting Chicago I wouldn’t recommend this. Stick to more authentic experiences such as Navy Pier or Willis Tower.
I went with my 2 grandchildren (ages 2 and 5). The Lego sculptures were impressive. But there wasn't really anything special for the kids to do - just a lot of stations with random collections of Lego pieces. The indoor playground was nice, but a little wild for smaller kids. The one ride we went on (the carousel) was okay. All in all, too expensive for what it is. Not worth the money, in my opinion.
I took my girlfriend here as a date and they wouldn't let us in b/c we did not have a kid with us. It didn't say "kid's only" on our tickets nor did I see that when I was buying two adult tickets online. It should not have let me buy the tickets if their policy is directly against that. Staff was also kind of rude about it. Like extremely fake smile rude. And when I was offered a refund, the staff communicated the whole process poorly. They offered, then got quiet and just starred at me. So I followed one of them to go get the return and then he finally told me another staff member was on their way to do it. I think the whole staff I dealt with could use customer service training.
If your child is 6 or 7 & under forget it. Day camp YMCA kids run wild. Counselors do nothing, Lego staff not present. Manager looks like he doesn’t even shave yet and listens with a stupid look on his face. When they finally left younger kids could finally enjoy the place. All of the other employees on the rides and food shop were very friendly. Nothing really exceptional here to make it worth the price of admission. Save the money, buy a lego kit , and take your kid to the park.
We bought the all inclusive package for the family. It was a Monday. After entered, we found only few around, there was no staff to operate the train, so had to gave it up; then the power went out for the movie, staff wasn't able to fix it, so had to gave it again. totally waste of the money.
Legoland is a fun family experience if you are fine with crowds. There are some fun rides and the cafe is nice. The kids enjoy the Lego Chicago model, the 4D movie and the build a race car area. Also a nice jungle gym area for those kids that really need to let out some energy! If you can handle the crowds, it is a fun experience for the Lego-loving kids in your life!
