We booked the 11am tour directly thru Rosy Tours site, guide was easy to spot under the gate. Recommend bringing some water due to the heat. Antonella is an excellent guide, the 2.5hr tour takes you around the Old City of Lecce and you get to learn about various churches, gates, architecture, and history of the city. There is a nice mix of ancient (B.C. era), classic (16th-18th century) and modern (20th century, Mussolini/fascism/WWII) buildings to experience by walking the city. Aside from the shops, the tour is exterior-only. To see the interior of the churches, we intend to return and purchase a separate pass. The tastings were variety of savory and sweet, I did find some of the "savory" to be very bland, with the highlights being the pasticciotto and gelato. Definitely felt the tour was good value for the price.
Delighted to have done the tasting and walking tour of Lecce. It was a great introduction to the city and some of its beautiful food. Our tour guide, Nadia, was really lovely and very knowledgeable. The really good thing, I think, about these types of tours are all the little bits and pieces that you learn which you wouldn't necessarily find out by yourself from just walking around. The groups are small so it feels very intimate and it was easy to hear Nadia. We had some lovely food - my favourite were the potato croquettes with a hint of mint, the gelato (two scoops, whatever flavour you wanted) and the warm pasticcioto (a beautiful cream filled pastry treat) - delicious 😋 The pace is slow so suitable for all ages. It is well worth doing.
Antonella knows EVERYTHING about Lecce and can talk about it wonderfully. We saw more of the city with her in 2 1/2 hours than in the 2 days we walked through Lecce before. The 5 stops with snacks were original, fun, and tasty.
Excellent tour. Antonella was very knowledgeable. Tour was well paced in the heat. The food stops worked very well. There was 6 people on our tour, this was good size group to keep everyone together and to hear the guide. Highly Recommend the history & food tour of Leece. We did the 6pm tour, really good time to do walking tour in Summer.
They accommodated me as a vegan! Antonella was a great tour guide and knowledgeable! Saw a different part of Lecce we didn’t even know about because it was not near our hotel. The pace was doable, and the food portion of the tour was awesome! They were able to accommodate me as a vegan, originally they said they could do 3/5 spots vegan, but I got something at every spot, including a Caffee leccese for a sweet spot. Worth the money!
Nadia was super knowledgeable, and a wonderful ambassador for Lecce. We laughed a ton and really enjoyed our time and many tidbits of learning and snacking. Highly recommend!
Valuable info to gain perspective on Lecce's history. Amtomella was a lovely tour guide. Very friendly and spoke great English.
The tour itself was great! Our guide, Antonella, was very knowledgeable about the history of Lecce, its culture, and traditions. We stopped at 5 local bars/shops and tasted delicious food- 3 savory bites and 2 sweet bites. I wouldn't have known about some of the treats if it weren't for the tour. Lecce itself was different from what I expected, a little dirty and the central area was very very crowded. I wasn't impressed with the city itself, but the tour definitely made it better!
It was a great introduction to Lecce! Nadia was a wonderful guide and shared the perfect amount of history and architecture about the city. They were light snacks but filled us up, so something to keep in mind with timing / dinner plans. Would recommend to others wanting to explore the city!
Unique combination of sightseeing and food. Antonella is a knowledgeable, interesting guide. Really a great experience.
