Dette er den bedste måde at udforske det centrale Kreta med plateauer, gamle stier og dyreliv. Vores rejse begynder fra dit hotel, der kommer vores vej gennem de spektakulære bjerge på Kreta, vi besøger Aposelemis bassinreservoir og en gammel romersk akvædukt. Herfra besøger vi landsbyen Kastamonitsa, der ligger ved foden af Afendi-bjergene, hvor du vil opleve morgenmad i kretensisk stil og blive introduceret til et lokalt produkt, Raki. Afstiv nu jer for snavsespor, følg den minoiske sti, der går gennem bjergpas, oplever spektakulært dyreliv, utroligt landskab, mytologi, historie og nyd at se den lokale natur på sit bedste. Her, højt oppe i bjergene, stopper vi ved en hyrdes Mitato, hvor vi kan fodre dyrene, mens vi ser hyrder fremstille ost på den traditionelle, gammeldags måde og endda smage denne friske, rige delikatesse. Næste stop er en fugleperspektiv af Lassithi-platået og nordkysten, en fantastisk fotomulighed man ikke må gå glip af. Vi fortsætter mod Diction grotten, Zeus fødested. Der er et gebyr på 4 € og vandresko anbefales. Efter opbygning og appetit tager vi frokost til en lokal taverna, hvor du får mulighed for at prøve et udvalg af traditionelle lokale forretter og hovedretter (vegetarisk mulighed tilgængelig) og nyde et glas eller to af den ubegrænsede vin! Når den er opdateret, fortsætter vi til Lassithi besøger Lassinthos Eco Park, hvor traditionelt kunsthåndværk og den lokale livsstil kan opleves. Derefter videre til Lassithi-platået, hvor tiden næsten har været stille, er lokalbefolkningen hovedsageligt landmænd. Du vil også se mange æsler på arbejde. Derefter kører vi mod Seli, hvor vi endnu en gang har mulighed for at tage billeder af denne unikke natur. Når vi fortsætter med at køre, når vi landsbyen Krassi, som er berømt for et 2.000 år gammelt plantræ og også har en naturlig kildevandskilde. Når man forlader Krassi, bugter sig ned ad bjergveje og forbi bare nogle af de mange oliventræbedrifter på øen, vil du igen se den spektakulære kystlinje og dybblåt hav. Dette er en dag fuld af mange overraskelser.

A really enjoyable trip exploring off the beaten track - the scenery was amazing & would have been inaccessible without the Land Rover. Darrel our guide was an excellent driver & had an amazing knowledge of the local flora & fauna & of Cretan history so we learnt a lot through. Lunch at a traditional taverna was also delicious & an authentic way to finish the day.

A beautiful day exploring the Lasithi plateau with a Guide who loves his job. Attention the entrance to the zeus cave is extra and is not included in the Award of the excursion. It’s also a shame that we came back an hour earlier than the time indicated by the person who sold us the tour. The Award is a little high. We still loved this trip.

It was amazing to be able to see the 'middle' of Crete........amazing mountains which are hidden just touring the highways surrounding this beautiful island. Fun to see the goats so accustomed to people. Christian was an excellent guide and really had to work explaining the sites to our group, both in French & English. Lunch was an amazing treat.... thoroughly enjoyed all of the local food!
