A fantastic guided tour of Gion and Kyoto’s geisha districts! Our tour guide, Mayumi, was excellent. Though we live in Japan and have visited Kyoto a number of times, we still learned so much on this tour and really enjoyed Mayumi’s vibrant energy. Bring your walking shoes—you will cover a lot of ground! It was really cool seeing Gion and Yasaka Jinja lit up at night. We even saw a geiko and maiko on their way to a gig in Pontocho! Thank you to Mayumi for such a fun and informative tour!
What a wonderful tour of Gion! I have been around the area in general several times before, but I was impressed with the deep knowledge and interesting stories and history imparted to us from our guide Mayumi. We went quite a few places I didn't know about--and it was absolutely gorgeous. She also recommended other spots to visit after the tour ended!

Our tour was fantastic! We really got to see all the sites of Gion. Our tour guide, Miyake, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and made our tour great!
Mayumi has been lovely. She explained every corner of the visit to us with a lot of patience, without rushing, and with a smile. In addition, we learned the difference between Maiko and Geiko, and the different major religions of the Japanese people. She invited us to matcha tea and a typical Japanese sweet, while she told us about the tea ritual. She dedicated extra time to us despite the visit time having ended. It is clear that she likes to share her culture. We recommend it.

10/10 Jasmine was so nice and kind. She not only informed us and educated us in a way that was fun as well as heartfelt. She also make sure to check up on us, that we didn’t get lost, were to hot, etc. She allowed us to ask any questions we had in general be it about the tour or Japan as a whole. Making sure to share with us the rules in certain areas and even taking photos of us and encouraging us to try different things. She ended the tour with dinner recommendations.

Very interesting tour that helps to better understand Japanese history, culture, and religion. In a 3-hour tour, we saw both more touristy areas and hidden, evocative corners that we would have hardly found without the support of someone local. Everything was made even more pleasant by the explanations of our guide Naoki, who infected us with his passion and enthusiasm. Highly recommended!
