Kotor er beliggende i den mest afsidesliggende del af Boka Kotorska (Kotorbukten). Old city surrounded by walls for about 4 km. Like many locations overlooking the Adriatic, it was often prey to pirates. It can be reached on foot from the port and offers truly interesting sea and beaches. Strangely, the euro is in use even though they are not yet part of the EU today. Personally, I did not know how beautiful this part of the coast was.

This was a short small group walking tour. Our guide, Marja, was engaging, clearly knew her history and enjoyed her work. She was easy to find right outside the Main Gate. The tour is only one hour, as shown in the listing, so it isn't in great depth, but does give you a good feel for this very old city in this new country (Montenegro gained independence in 2006.) At the conclusion, she provided a variety of suggestions of other ways to explore and enjoy the old town area. We would have happily spent more time with Marja.
