Vi starter vores rejse fra fortiden på Bunk' Art Museum med en fuld - fordybelse af den albanske historie gennem de sidste 100 år. Den tidligere atombunker, bygget til at rumme den kommunistiske diktator Hoxha i tilfælde af angreb, fortæller os historien om diktatorens tid og de sidste to verdenskrige gennem fotografier, genstande og dokumenter.
Når vi er trådt ud af Bunk' Art, sætter vi kursen mod "qofte" (frikadeller), yoghurtsauce, patatochips og lokal øl, Tiranas typiske streetfood!
Gå mod Skanderbeg-pladsen og lær om den historiske bygning, såsom Et'hem Bey-moskeen, klokketårnet, der omgiver Tiranas hovedtorv.
Vi går gennem Blloku-området, hvor vi opdager hjemmet til Enver Hoxha og andre højtstående medlemmer af hans regime. Vi stopper ved Post Blloku-mindesmærket, som ærer tidligere politiske fanger, i et område, der engang var forbudt at komme ind.
Se pyramiden, det tidligere "Enver Hoxha Museum". Dens engang – hvide marmorvægge smuldrer nu og er fulde af graffiti. Oplev dens historie fra vores lokale turdirektør.
Gå forbi Mother Teresa Square i den sydlige del af hovedboulevarden
Gå ind i National Gallery of Arts for mange socialistiske realistiske kunst. Kraftige billeder giver en fornemmelse af, hvordan "realistisk" kunst blev brugt til at skabe propaganda.***(hvis tilgængelig for besøget)
Afslut din dagstur med at fejre den med en kaffepause på Komiteti – Kafe Museum for noget raki, kommunistisk slik og måske også noget kaffe.

The tour gave an insight into life before, during and after Communism, also showed architecture from the different eras. The lunch was excellent, fresh and tasty also there was plenty! My guide, Edi, was very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke excellent English. I rate this as a good value tour well worth undertaking.
Extremely informative, friendly and interesting guide, very thorough tour but we felt relaxed and free to ask as many questions as we liked. We never felt rushed. It is a great way to include Bunk'art 1 in a tour as it is out of town. It is better than Bunk'art 2 and our guide Ditmir gave us a lot of information we would not have had if we had gone alone. Good food as well! We very much enjoyed ourselves and think the tour is good value to see many of the main sites of Tirana in a thorough and efficient way. This meant we had more time to relax for the remainder of our stay. Thank you Ditmir!

We had an amazing time with Ditmir as our guide. He was fascinating to listen to, had many personal, family stories to talk about as we walked around Tirana and discussed communism in Albania. He also personalized the tour for us so we were able to take the cable car up the mountain, and visit Bunk’Art. He adjusted the tour pace for things we were more interested in, answered a million questions openly and honestly. We had some traditional food, drinks, and coffee along the way as well. It was great the tour was all-inclusive as well, unlike many tour companies the we never had to pay for anything offered during the day. We also had a driver to get us to the cable car, and thankfully we did since driving in Tirana can be a nightmare. Highly recommend Ditmir and Good Albania.

Full day with transport, admission tickets, lunch, afternoon raki stop all included so good value. Our guide was a very nice chap who grew up in Communist times so it was interesting to get his persepctive on what it was like to live in those times. He was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. Tirana is a great city with a fascinating history. Having a personal tour guide is the best way to learn about it. Worth the investment.
We learned a lot about the communist history of Albania and the food was excellent as well. This was a fantastic deal for the price.
