Efter at vi har hentet dig fra dit hotel i Kiruna, begynder vi at jagte nordlyset, der afhænger af hver nat i forhold til vejrforholdene. Vi kan køre til Abisko, Kirunas boreale skov eller hvor vi nu kan finde klar himmel for at se Aurora Borealis. Lights of Vikings har en rigtig høj succesrate i at finde klar himmel, hvilket er et af de vigtigste kriterier for at se nordlyset. Vores koncept er berømt for at køre lange distancer, hvis det er nødvendigt! Uanset hvor vi tager hen under turen, vil vi fortælle dig mange historier om nordlys og vikinger. Efter at have fundet klar himmel, vil vi beundre nordlyset, og vi vil tage billeder, som vi sender til dig inden for 3 dage efter turen. Hvis du medbringer dit eget kamera, hjælper vi dig med at sætte det op for at få de bedste billeder. Mens nordlyset danser på himlen, serverer vi varme drikke og laver bål, så du kan holde varmen. Efter nordlysturen kører vi dig tilbage til Kiruna.

Afhentningssteder og tider
For at gøre vores afhentningsservice så glat som muligt beder vi alle vores gæster om at vente på os uden for hotellet på det angivne afhentningstidspunkt, ikke i receptionen. Vi vil ikke være i stand til at kontakte dig på forhånd, og vi vil ikke være i stand til at tjekke inde i receptionen. Vi tilbyder en 5 - minutters ventetid. Men hvis vi ikke kan nå dig, bliver vi nødt til at forlade for at respektere de andre gæsters afhentningstider. Gæster, der overnatter på Best Western Arctic Eden, afhentes foran Arctic Thai, som er en restaurant placeret direkte foran hotellet, da det ikke er muligt at komme til hotellet med bil. Gæster, der bor på Elite Frost Hotel og Scandic, afhentes på Kiruna Turistkontor (Malmvägen 9B) – kun 200 m til fods, da det ikke er muligt at komme til hotellet med bil. Der tilbydes desværre ikke afhentning/afhentning på Airbnb, Camp Alta, Aurora Camp Kurravaara eller Reindeer Lodge. Du er mere end velkommen til at møde os på nogen af vores udpegede afhentningspunkter.

It was an inestimable experience for us! Merce picked us around 7.30 pm from our hotel and we drove out of city for an hour and half to find a clear sky with least light pollution. Merce was constantly checking and communicating with other members of their group and trying to find the best place for us. On our way, starting from the 30th minute we saw Northern lights! Whenever Merce detected a northern light she stoped the car so we can enjoy them and take some shoots. Before we reached the destination we stoped at least 5 times. After we reached our destination Merce brought some deerskin for us to sit on (such a good isolation) and some snacks like lingonberry tea, cookies, and chocolate. By the time passing she explained us the science behind the Northern Lights. After we laid down and watched the lights, and they started literally dancing on top of us!! Lights continued until we started to head back, so even after midnight. Merce also took such an amazing pictures of us and lights, you can find them attached. Thank you for such an awesome night!
If you are looking for an unforgettable Aurora Borealis experience, look no further. From start to finish, this tour was the highlight of our trip. Expertise You Can Trust The knowledgeable guides are truly the stars of the show (second only to the Aurora itself!). They don’t just drive you around; they are passionate experts in meteorology and aurora science. They spent the entire evening analyzing satellite data and weather patterns to ensure we had the best possible vantage point. Heartwarming Hospitality Even while waiting for the lights to dance, we were incredibly comfortable. The team curated a wonderfully "hygge" atmosphere that made the Arctic chill disappear. We gathered around a perfectly built, cozy fire that kept everyone toasty. The Treats: We were treated to delicious local cookies and the absolute highlight of steaming hot lingonberry juice. It was the perfect sweet, tart, and warming treat for a cold night. Chasing the Lights It’s important to remember that this team doesn’t control Mother Nature, and seeing the Aurora is never a 100% guarantee. However, I can honestly say these guides do everything in their power to find clear skies. Their dedication is unmatched; they drove us further than expected just to find the perfect spot, and their persistence paid off with a spectacular show! Bottom line: Even if the lights hadn't appeared, the stories, the warmth, and the hospitality would have made this a five-star night. Highly recommended!
The tour guides were lovely people but I believe this tour cost more than others because of the photography. Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures was poor - only 2 images per person, one blurry, both low jpeg quality, so not worth the higher cost compared to another tour we did with delicious street food.
Unfortunatelly we can not see your real name so we can't really know which date you have joined our tour, if you can contact us via email so we can check the picture folder we have sent to you. Normally we take 100+ pictures on our tours but this really depends on the night of aurora activity, how long we see aurora etc. Also our tours are not more expensive because of picture we take, we organize the longest northern lights tour in Swedish Lapland, we drive longer miles to find clear sky if necessarry, we provide winter overalls, do campfire. You can see how successfull we are finding clear sky on our social media as we share monthly calendar about what we have done. So please send us an email so we can deeply check pictures quality as we never send low jpeg quality.
Amazing experience, great and knowledgeable guides. They really went above and beyond to find the best spot to experience the northern lights and to take amazing professional pictures of our engagement.
I went to Kiruna to see the northern lights and I booked this company because it is known to drive however far is necessary to get you that opportunity. I needed that persistence because the entire time I was in Kiruna it was overcast!! I went out the first night and we drove for 1:45min east to get to clear skies and they found us a great lake bed with a beautiful view of the Milky Way. Unfortunately, the northern lights did not shine that night. The next night I joined them again and this time we drove over 2 hours south till we finally found some clear skies and my goodness did the lights put on a show!! It was amazing. We stayed out watching the lights till about 0030 before we started heading back! A lot of other companies had set times that they ended tours or set distance they would travel, not this one. If you are looking for a company that will go above and beyond to get you a chance to see the lights look no further! And, their photos were amazing? I had my camera but it was also nice to know someone else was taking pictures too and I could just be present in the moment and not have to worry about the photos!
I can not recommend this tour enough. I had planned to propose under the northern lights, and Merce went above and beyond to make that happen. On a night that was pretty overcast and cloudy, she drove for hours to find us one of the only wide open spots in the area. The photos were amazing and the team really cares about what they do, making the moment all that much more special. They gave us a night that we will never forget.
Seeing the Northern Lights had been my dream for many years ✨, and in the last couple of months I was searching for a tour that could truly help make it come true. I’m so happy I chose Light of The Vikings - they went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible chance to see the Aurora. The weather was challenging (rain, snow, wind, fog - everything!), but the team kept driving to different locations to find clear skies. Their dedication was incredible. And in the end - my dream came true 💚 Not only did we see the Northern Lights, but we also captured amazing photos and even witnessed the Aurora dancing in the sky. It was absolutely magical. A huge thank you to our tour guides, Merce & Onur, they were fantastic! We did the tour for two days in a row, and both nights we were lucky enough to see the lights. The second tour was especially unforgettable - we drove a very long way, almost from Kiruna to the Finnish border, and once again witnessed breathtaking beauty. We had an absolutely excellent experience with Lights of Vikings on their Northern Lights tour. We booked just two days in advance and were incredibly lucky to see the aurora on both nights — something that felt even more special given the challenging weather conditions. On the first night, despite snow and rain, our guide Merce went above and beyond — driving all the way to Abisko and changing locations multiple times until we found clear skies. She also took amazing photos for us, which made the experience even more memorable. On the second night, the weather was no easier, with heavy cloud cover, but our guide Onur was determined not to give up. He drove for about three hours in different directions, constantly searching for clear skies, and his persistence paid off when we finally witnessed a beautiful aurora display. Throughout the tour, he kept the group positive, engaged, and well-informed, explaining in detail both the science behind the phenomenon and the best conditions to see it. Both guides were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making sure we had the best possible experience. We truly appreciated their effort, energy, and passion. Highly recommend Lights of Vikings if you want a Northern Lights experience where the guides will do everything possible to help you see the aurora — even when conditions are tough.
We had the absolute privilege of joining The Lights of Vikings tour on March 22 in Abisko and March 23 in Kiruna, and it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. We had an amazing experience on our Northern Lights tour. Everything was very well organized, and the pick up was perfectly on time, which we really appreciated in the cold weather. Iris and Bernard were absolutely wonderful, both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. They made us feel comfortable the entire time and shared fascinating insights about the Northern Lights and the region. We also truly appreciated their transparency and kindness in informing us about the low chances of visibility hours in advance. Even with challenging conditions, they made a great effort to find clear skies and make the experience happen, which we found very commendable. The atmosphere was a highlight with a cozy campfire that made the night even more special. The professional photos they took were absolutely beautiful and such a great memory of the experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a truly magical Northern Lights experience!
