Rejseplan
Du bliver hentet om morgenen på dit hotel i Moshi og ført til Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). Drevet tager cirka 1 time.

To begin with our pick up was not well organised. The description said the pick up could be from any hotel in Moshi but the agent made us go to another hotel (we had to pay extra for the transfer) and didn't even inform the tour operator where we would come. We were also not informed about the pick up time, but okay, we contacted the operator ourselves. When the guide and the driver arrived, they were surprised to find out that we couldn't get the pick up from our hotel, they said it would be absolutely possible. Also, although it says in the description that mineral water will be provided, it wasn't made clear that we should bring our own non-plastic bottles. The guide told us about only at the pick up but since we were not in our hotel, we couldn't go back to take our bottles. We had to rent bottles at thr entry to the park for additional $20, really? You should also bring a raincoat, which we were informed about when it was already too late - again, we could rent it for extra money at the entrance. But most importantly, although it's called a Kilimanjaro hike, you will not get to see the mountain at all. It's just a walk in the forest of the national park, without any views on Kili whatsoever. Sorry, not worth the money and not want we expected.
It was a valuable experience to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, on my own feet. 8km was a bit tough, but the roads were well maintained and easy to walk, and the lunches I had at Mandalahat were very good. Our guide Ellif was kind and taught us a lot about Kilimanjaro. It was a happy day, meeting the black and white Abesinia colobus, blue monkey and hilux.
Nick was an outstanding guide — professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made our trip smooth and full of great memories, always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. We learned so much about the area, the people, and the wildlife thanks to him. Everything was perfectly organized and full of positive energy from start to finish. If you’re visiting Moshi, make sure you book with Moshi Tours and ask for Nick — he truly made our experience unforgettable!
The guide Elly was working with a trainee. Both really knew their stuff and kept us motivated. They pointed out a lot of plants and history of the mountain....somebody did the whole thing up and down in 6 hours 24 minutes...we took 2.5 hours to the first camp. The lunch was well thought out with a lot of protein and some good carbs to help recover from the hike up.
The best experience of my life in Tanzania. Hiking Kilimanjaro is a lifetime memory. Coming back for the hike to the top of Kili.
Wow. This was quite a hike. When I completed the day, I had walked 12.5 miles in total and I think it was over the course of 3000 meters of elevation gain and then loss coming down. This is not an easy hike. The terrain is rough in some areas with a lot of mud and slippery rocks. You definitely need good shoes and I highly suggest trekking poles!!!! You also need a reusable water bottle. The park does not allow plastic bottles. Elly was a phenomenal guide. He took great pictures and kept me positive the entire hike. He encouraged me, he sang. It was a really special hike.
My wife and I had an amazing time on this Kilimanjaro day hike. We were picked up by our driver, Nick, in the morning and transported through Moshi Town and the Chagga Villiage. Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable about the region and pointed out some highlights along the way. At Marangu gate we met our guide Gilbert. After some quick photos and registration we began our hike. Gilbert was fantastic and we felt very safe and comfortable with him as our guide. The hike to the Mandara Huts is easily the most beautiful hike I’ve ever been on. Nothing better than hiking through a lush, green atmosphere! The hike itself is moderate. The last hour of the hike is a bit different but if you’re in decent shape you’ll be fine. I can’t say enough great things about Nick and Gilbert. They’re awesome. We will hopefully return to Tanzania in the future!
A well organized hike to the base camp of Kili. We saw a lot of animals on the way. The guide was very professional.
My guide Ramadhan and I set off to Mandara Hut. I'm so glad I booked with Nick and Moshi Tours and transfer as we saw the peaks because we went a bit further than Mandara hut and went to the crater where you could see the peaks. On the way back down from the crater we saw another group who were finishing at Mandara Hut and they were disappointed they couldn't see the peaks, whereas we had lunch there and spent time in the crater. I'm glad I did this tour because I want to climb the mountain and this gave me a lot of confidence to return next year. We saw monkeys, the Tanzanian national flower which is only found in the Kilimanjaro region and it was a great day one I won't forget so thanks to Ramadhan, Nelson and Nick
Hiking for the day on Kilimanjaro was an incredible experience. It was beautiful, a good challenge, and my guied was super! Starting with a direct transfer from my hotel, to getting our hiking passes, hiking pole, and lunch; everything was well planned out, on time, and smooth. Nick's team is highly professional and courteous. My guide was well-versed in English, history of Kilimanjaro, wildlife, and plants. He was super at pointing out plantlife to me and naming everything not just in English but also Latin. Very intelligent and personable young man. I felt secure and trusted him to keep me safe througout the entire hike.
