Paravur Backwaters er et af de mindre kendte, stramt opbevarede hemmelige steder i det sydlige Kerala. Paravur Backwaters er sikkert og et beskyttet vandområde uden stor indflydelse fra tidevandseffekterne. Du kan være sikker på sikkerheden, da dybden af søen generelt ikke er mere end 10 fod og ikke bredere end 1 km. Dette sikrer, at du ikke padler ud og mister orienteringen i ukendt farvand. Vores padlecenter er placeret på en lille sandbanke (ikke bredere end 70 meter), der sidder mellem Arabian Sea og Paravur Backwaters. Unik og en meget sjælden sti på 10 km afstand, som giver deltagerne mulighed for at padle og opleve to typer vandområder (Turen starter fra saltvandsområdet og går til østsiden af ferskvandsområdet og retur.) – Padle under og forbi Jernbanebroen. – Besøg Chithan Thampuran Temple Island. – Padle gennem tunnelerne og kanalerne inde i Mangroveskoven. – Besøg Black Devil Snail Sandbar Islands.

Had a great time - saw various birds and jellyfish. I chose to share a kayak with Sebin and he paddled us across the lake quickly. Sebin was a super guide. Be prepared to get a little wet and protect yourself from the sun!

Don‘t expect a WOW! Paddling to the tiny mangrove forest and back in tge middle of 2 lakes makes about 80% of the time. The staff is not interested in their costumers, hardly any interactions.

To set clear expectations for future guests, our standard route is a 10 km round trip, where the mangrove stretch itself is roughly 1 km, and the remaining section is through open backwaters from west-end (coastal area) to east-end (confluence of salt waters and fresh waters). Many guests come specifically for the calm paddle, scenery, and birdlife, but we fully understand that if someone is expecting a longer mangrove-only experience, it can feel disappointing. We’ll do a better job of communicating this clearly before the trip starts so guests can choose the experience that best matches what they’re looking for. We’re also concerned by your comment that the staff seemed uninterested and that there was hardly any interaction. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have. We’ve identified the team member who was on duty and have addressed this internally, with a stronger emphasis on guest briefing, on-water communication, and basic hospitality throughout. We kayaked across two lakes to reach the mangroves so that was the bulk of the trip of four hours. I have been in mangroves; they are a distinct and different eco system supporting a wide variety of wildlife. These mangroves were a thin line of mangrove trees on their last legs, the only wildlife was a huge crow population, and the area was a playground for many speedboats canoes etc. People were enjoying themselves flicking water and fooling around but it not the sort of ecosystem I had signed up to visit. I was thinking exotic birdlife lizards etc not a watersports leisure area. Admittedly I didn't ask beforehand I just assumed.

It is brilliant. However, the route is a bit long. Almost 10 kms. Advisable to be well hydrated. The mangrove canopy is absolutely amazing.

Viator & Agoda are absolutely unreliable in India. They charged us 20% higher than the actual price and confirmed booking for Dec 25th, on which day the activity was closed! I planned my trip accordingly, couldnt do the activity and also did not get refund! The attached pic shows how the booking shows completed!

Very friendly staff and employees. Very easy process to go from arrival at the location to being out in the water. It was a bit long going from the point of departure to the mangroves. Approximately 5 km of rowing for about 30 minutes of touring the mangroves. Not for the weak.
