A few days ago, we dove with Dom and with Dom at Dive Kaui Koloa Landing. Using scooters, we encountered a pod of about 30 dolphins and kept a respectful distance while they rested. At one point, a baby dolphin drifted toward us. Mama said no, no, no, and was gently guided away by its mother—an unforgettable moment that truly made the trip. On our second dive, zipping along with scooters, we parted schools of fish as we swam and explored lava tubes—no special certification required for scooters, since there’s definitely a steep learning curve. Turtles were everywhere. One even came up onto the landing to bask in the sun, while many others tucked themselves into every nook and cranny along the reef. With the scooters—zipping through the water like Superman—even the quieter stretches of coral became exciting, since we could cover so much ground. Thank you, Dom, for a memorable dive. My new favorite.
Was awesome really fun Avery was a great dive master and really fun saw a bunch of cool things like octopus, sharks, and turtles really fun and a good time!!
What a wonderful experience! I been diving with Dive Kauai for about 12 years now. Each time is both familiar and amazingly new at the same time. Familiar in that the equipment is always solid, clean, in great shape, laid out and ready when I arrive at the shore dive site. Familiar in that the dive lead is always knowledgeable, super experienced and caring. Each time is amazingly new because each dive lead has some fantastic understanding of the reefs and dive sites to share. This time it was Logan with the uncanny ability to spot octopus and other typically camouflaged reef life. So amazing! I got to see rare fish, honu (turtles) everywhere and the best experience I have ever had diving Sheraton Caverns. Breathtaking views. Because we were in DPVs we got to see a little deeper reef life, too. What a great experience! Will continue to dive with Dive Kauai. They are a 5-star PADI house for good reason.
Awesome experience, two tank shore dive using “scooters” will make you never want to dive without one. depths from 20-60 feet, sea turtles, octopus, every other reef fish, water temp in the 80’s no need for a wet suit but available for the skinnier crowd. Loved my guides and had a great trip thank you both for a wonderful experience.
Logan was a great dive master! The scooters were amazing! We covered a lot of the reef and saw several sea turtles and lots of different fish.
Amazing diving experience! Devin was sick but did my reactivate flawlessly. Jill took over and she was phenomenal for the rest of the dives including the scooter adventure. She’s awesome!
0n 2/17/23 we were scheduled for 2 dives from the boat. We were contacted the day before saying that the boat was being repaired and would we consider doing the scooters. They assured us that we would go to the Sheraton Caverns regardless. We have never done scooter before and we are always up for an adventure. We loved the scooters but on the downside is that by taking the scooter from shore you have less time at the caverns because of the travel on the scooters too/from because you are using your air. But going to the Sheraton was a high priority for us and it did not disappoint. We saw a variety of sea life and lots of turtles! We were scheduled to do a shore dive but we ended up canceling it out. The shore entrance was viewable from our room and it was completely murky. Due to constant storms the sand was all turning and there would be no visibility. In fact when we started the on the scooters on the prior dive from shore it was very difficult to see until you got far enough away from shore. If we go back we would book with this company again and we had a great experience. We understand that they have no control over the weather and it appears winter months can be tricky.
Dive masters were exceptional and always willing to accommodate. Great experience using the scooter and saw wonderful marine life both on this dive as well as the Twilight/Night Dive. Easy access to the location but please use the email/text information instead of online nav. Would definitely do it again!
Awesome time on the DPV tour. First a short into into operations and off we went. Only bad thing is entry from Koloa landing is very murky and full of debris but once you swim out to the dive marker things became Hawaii like and in clear waters. Great experience and night recommended
We had a great day of diving with scooters today! Dive Master Logan took really good care of us! We took the scooters from shore at Koloa Landing to Stone House. On the way out we saw a lot of fish, corals, a few endemic lion fish and right before we got to Stone House, three eagle rays came cruising by! Stone House was a great dive site and we really enjoyed the location. On the scooter trip back we saw some turtles and covered a lot of distance. The second dive we headed out via scooters to Sheraton Caverns and saw numerous turtles, a couple octopuses and were able to do several swim throughs of the caverns. On the way back we saw three white tip reef sharks swimming in the reef and got to enjoy their impressive beauty for awhile! Every day diving with Dive Kauai we have been saying this is the best dive yet. Every day gets better and better. Can’t wait for our night dive tomorrow and a few more dives to come! Thanks Logan and Dive Kauai!
