Our three hour walking tour of Kanazawa provided us with the perfect context to better understand the city and its history. Our tour guide Loic was both lively and highly informed. Touring the geisha district and the castle gardens, we learned a lot and saved a bunch of bookmarks to head back to and explore further with our remaining time here in the city. Thank you!

Natsuka was lovely, taking time to find out what we were interested in and wanted to see and then making sure the tour included those things. She was very knowledgeable on all aspects of local life from the Samurai to the local crafts and craftsmen to the gardens. She took us to the food hall and explained Japanese food - what it is made of and how it's prepared, as well as trying some lovely items that we wouldn't normally buy. A very enjoyable few hours with a lovely lady.

We had a wonderful private tour in Kanazawa with Yukari. She walked us through several locations and thoughtfully explained local customs, including how to properly pray and show respect at shrines. Yukari shared great insight about local goods, helped us navigate Omicho Market, and offered excellent food recommendations along the way.At one of our stops, she also recommended the Samuraimachi Museum, which we really enjoyed visiting afterward. Yukari was friendly, kind, and very informative throughout the tour, and we especially appreciated that she checked in with us later and sent helpful dinner suggestions. She made our time in Kanazawa feel personal and easy, and we highly recommend her as a guide!

Can't say enough about how great our experience with City Unscripted was in Kanazawa. Our tour guide Sho reached out ahead of time via e-mail and we connected via WhatsApp as well. We were able to customize our experience around the sites we were most interested in. We were also able to communicate easily on meeting location and arrival. We were able to easily find the meeting location and start our tour. Sho was very knowledgeable and happy to answer and all of our questions. The length of our tour was just perfect. We even squeezed in some extra sites with our extra time. It was nice when entering sites with an admission fee to have the private guide to assist with what tickets to purchase and facilitate the purchase. During our tour Sho did a great job of taking photos of us on our tour which he sent to us via WhatsApp after the tour. With it being a private tour we didn't have to worry too much about crowd sizes as it was just the 2 of us with Sho. It made it easy to navigate together and hear what Sho had to say. Fully recommend booking private tours through City Unscripted. We will certainly be checking them out first on future trips to see if they offer their services.

Suzuki-san was a great guide! He took us to some less traveled areas (smaller tea district) as well as the main tourist areas (Higashi Chaya, Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Garden) and gave us history and cultural insights. We enjoyed our time with him!
