Kakadu-dagstur fra Darwin med Offroad Dreaming

Beskrivelse

Gorgeous day in Kakadu (and, yes, it’s a long drive each way), but it’s totally worth it. I appreciated the Aboriginal and Traditional owner-led guided experiences from end to end — this helped cement the critical anthropological linkages and interrelationships between human history and environment. This was special. Kakadu is a truly special place. Our guides (JB from the Tiwi Islands, for example) made it all the more special.
Exceptional! Ian was the best guide I have ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable in a wide variety of topics, culturally respectful and insightful, engaging and kind. Ubirr was just stunning and I feel very privileged to be aloud to experience it. The cruise was also amazing, so many crocodiles!!! 🐊 Book with zero regrets, you will love it!
Really interesting and enjoyable experience, seeing the rock art and a lot of crocs. Lunch was really good as well
Absolutely amazing experience from the moment I was picked up (5.36am which was exactly on time) until the moment I was dropped off back at my hotel. There was commentary on plants, animals and history along the way as well as a few additional stops were time permitted. The rock paintings were more amazing than I could possibly have imagined, and I loved that the boat tour was conducted by people who really lived there rather than a polished performance. Needless to say the scenery was breathtaking and there was an abundance of crocs. Practically, the food was excellent and there was more than enough. The paths were a little rocky and there was some climbing. However the pace was set by the group and there was the ability to skip the climbing bits if you weren't comfortable (or able) to do that bit. I live with arthritis in my hips, knees and back, and I found it manageable. However, if it had been a bad day I would have missed the climbing part, and not felt like I missed out on seeing the rock art. Tips: Take cash in case you would like to buy art from local artists. You can leave belongings on the bus during the various stops. The bus can be chilly, so consider bringing a jumper. That said, you'll be grateful for the air-conditioning!
This was a lovely day out. JB was an excellent host showing us around Kakadu. Really friendly and very knowledgeable, made every part of the day comfortable and interesting. The cruise with the crocodiles was also great, I think we were lucky to have seen so many that day. Would recommend anyone interested in seeing Kakadu take the tour.
This trip is the best way to see the heart of the Kakadu
JB, our bus driver and tour guide for the day, was brilliant right from pickup. It was an early start, but he put everyone in a great mood straight away. He knows the area inside out and kept things entertaining without talking just for the sake of it. The walk at Ubirr was breathtaking. JB explained the ancient rock art, local birds and all of the trees we were walking amongst while keeping a close eye on an older member of our group who needed a bit of a hand on the rocks. Finishing that walk to find picnic tables set up with tablecloths, fresh salads, and roast chicken was such a great touch. The guide for the river cruise part of the day was Tyrone, a local man from Arnhem Land. He had a great, dry sense of humour and shared his stories with us as we navigated the river full of crocodiles. He even gave us a spear-throwing demonstration. Comfortable bus, fantastic guides, and great lunch and snacks. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better day out.
Cultural experience in a friendly atmosphere with guides who take great care of us. The trip to get to Kakadu does not seem long at all. Nice little stop at a typical roadside restaurant along the Arnhem HW. Delicious little picnic on site, fruity and refreshing dessert on the way back from Ubirr. Enriching river cruise between Arnhem Land and Kakadu, enhanced by explanations from our dedicated Aboriginal guide and pilot.
Amazing tour. Norm our guide was very entertaining and informative. We were VERY well looked after. Pick up was on time, bus was comfortable, food was plentiful.
Action packed, aboriginal artwork was incredible. East Adelaide River cruise was phenomenal and very interesting
