Beskrivelse

Wild Tracks/ Kahawa - Coffee Walk with stay in a Village, Safari and Trekking

My husband and I traveled to Tanzania in October 2023 through Wild Tracks Safari. We spent 6 days in a coffee farm guesthouse in the Nkoaranga Village, and 8 days on a private safari. This was hands-down the best vacation we have ever been on and by far the best organized tour we have ever experienced. It was 100% custom tailored to our needs, seamless in execution and totally personable! The level of care provided by Frank and Beate (the owners of the Wild Tracks Safari, Kahawa, and the guest house), together with their exceptional team, cannot compare to anything we have ever experienced before on our trips with big tour operators. We literally felt as though we were a part of their family, and the guesthouse felt like our home away from home. Dixon (our guide and driver while in the village) treated us as his own parents, and we will never forget his sincere smile, gentle words and impressive driving around Arusha. Veronica and Eliana (cooks and housekeepers in the guest house) are wizards in the kitchen. They made all the delicious food from local ingredients, and paid special attention to the dietary restrictions we have. Jackson and Joshua (day and night watchmen in the guesthouse) are two quiet, responsible men, that were always making sure we were safe. They all went over and beyond to make us feel at home, comfortable and safe. Their big smiles and friendliness are deeply engraved in our hearts. The safari to 4 parks (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manjara) was also organized by Wild Tracks Safari. Gabriel was our guide and driver on safari. He was very professional, knowledgeable, responsible and funny. He possesses a special skill to notice what our needs and wishes were and he quietly implemented those to the itinerary. We will never forget how focused he was when reading the clues in the park so we could spot wildlife, and how patient he was while waiting for my husband to take photos of many, many beautiful animals. He collaborated with other guides through the radio station so we all, tourists and drivers, became one big family in the Serengeti - the most special place on Earth! Our trip included a fantastic coffee tour, walks around the beautiful village of Nkoaranga, a visit to the Kahawa roastery (we had an excellent lunch there) and a visit to the organic coffee farm (Samueli's family, warmed our hearts with a sincere welcome, smiles and hard work). We hiked to the first camp in Kilimanjaro through the enchanted forest, and we hiked to the magical waterfall on the mount Meru. The hikes were also organized by Wild Tracks Safari. We cannot wait to go back to Tanzania and we are looking forward to seeing the whole team from Wild Tracks, Kahawa, and the guest house again. Thank you!!!! Maja and Sinisa

Highly recommended experience

We did the coffee walk and stayed at the guest house for two nights. Both was an amazing experience! The guest house and the garden are beautiful, the meals are absolutely delicious and the people are extremely nice. The coffee walk with guide Samwel was very interesting: You get to see the village, talk to locals, learn a lot about coffee and Samwel will answer any of your questions, he is an excellent guide! All in all one of the highlights of our trips, we highly recommend this experience!

Amazing coffee, learning about culture & good conversation

For us the coffee tour was absolutely a highlight while staying in Arusha! We really enjoyed the coffee walk and the exchange with our friendly guide Samwel. We’ve learned a lot about the village, the locals and of course about coffee. Samwel was an amazing host and we enjoyed the conversation with him a lot. If you want to do a coffee walk in Tanzania - this is the place! Not to forget, the coffee was amazing! We’re already looking forward to drinking it again when we’re back home.

One of our favorite days!!

We absolutely loved the Coffee Walk! Our guide Samwel was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about him- friendly, outgoing, incredibly knowledgeable about the area and plants (he grew up there!). It was really interesting to hear all about the village, take a beautiful long walk throughout the forests with banana & avocado trees and medicinal plants! Then seeing all the coffee plants and learning about the whole process! + it’s Fair Trade and Organic which is really important! Our kids (6&8 years old) loved every minute of it and Samwel was just the perfect guide! We also enjoyed the beautiful local lunch and coffee tasting at the end of the tour! Was fun to hear about all the various types of coffee and understand how the collective works. The entire day was fun, active yet at a relaxing pace and really interesting. I highly recommend booking a tour with Kahawa!

Book the guesthouse if you can!

Out of the MANY similar tours in Arusha I chose this one to support a small, fair trade organization. The guide was quite knowledgeable about coffee and it had an informal feeling to the day. Lunch was good, all meals and accommodation in the guesthouse were phenomenal. On another note, their gift shop is incredibly affordable, maybe the best prices I saw. I ok odd up a lot of coffee and things for friends.
