Beskrivelse

A wonderful experience

My friend and I experienced the tea ceremony and making Japanese sweets for the first time. I was a little nervous before the tea ceremony, but Ikuyo-san welcomed us with a bright smile that eased our nervousness. Once we entered the tea room, she warmed us up by telling us a simple story about the history of the tea ceremony. The tea room was very beautiful, and in March it was decorated with cute Japanese hina dolls of Hinamatsuri and peach blossoms. The scent of charcoal and the sound of hot water boiling from the Kama entertained all five senses in a quiet space. It was a very memorable experience to be able to enjoy tea in such a space with my friends. We enjoyed each and every part of the delicate process of making Japanese sweets as well, and ended our special day by enjoying the Japanese sweets that we made on beautiful Japanese plates. Ikuyo-san is a very bright and kind. This is a class that I highly recommend to everyone.

Enriching experience!

What an enriching experience! This was my first encounter with a Japanese tea ceremony. I had no prior knowledge nor experience, but Ikuyo-san made us feel at home in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Ikuyo-san is extremely kind and highly experienced - I was fascinated by the depth of thought and consideration that went into the tea ceremony. The Japanese sweets making experience was also an exciting experience. Who knew we could make such lovely (and delicious!) sweets at home! Thank you Ikuyo-san for a lovely experience. I feel proud to be Japanese!

Amazing Tea and Dessert-Making Experience!!

We had such a special experience with Ikuyo!! As first time visitors to Japan it was so wonderful to learn about the significance of the tea ceremony and making the dessert was so fun!! Ikuyo was wonderful with my 13-year old boys. They loved being hands-on and making the dessert and the tea. I highly recommend.

Loved every second of my time at this place!

I can only recommend coming to this place if you are interested in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The teacher is certified beautiful lady who has been doing tea ceremonies since young. She is a very nice lady with lots of knowledge and experiences in this field. I can guarantee you that she makes every interested traveler feel welcome, even if it is just a one time experience. She also takes in students like me, who only have a limited time available in Japan, but still want to learn something about tea ceremonies in Japan. She usually greets her guests wearing a beautiful traditional kimono, which I love! I took her lessons for 6 months and I have to say that every visit (lesson) was a heartful cultural experience. On top of the tea, you also get to enjoy her self made traditional Japanese sweets which are absolutely delicious. You can also make these sweets with her! So, if you have the time, go for it! You will not regret it!! I will go again when I go back to Japan.
