It was really good! Kami-chan was so cute and the presenter was kind and clearly loved what she was teaching!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. It truly means a lot to me and encourages me to keep creating new workshops. How do you like the notebook you made? I hope you'll fill it with memories of your time in Tokyo by keeping postcards, tickets, brochures, and other souvenirs you collect, and by writing about your experiences along the way. Kamichan, our mascot cat, and I look forward to seeing you again the next time you visit!
lovely morning, went so fast. meet famous youtube cat kami. we made an amazing notebook with washi paper . felt very welcomed. we now have a great memory of Japan to take home.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. It truly encourages me and means a lot. Have you been writing down your memories of Japan in the notebook you made? Mizuhiki knotting can feel a little confusing at first, but with practice, you'll find that you can tie beautiful knots more quickly and confidently each time. My mascot cat and I look forward to seeing you again someday! 🐾😊✨ Japanese paper Notebook and Mizuhiki Belt and bookmark Workshop チリからEugenia が参加。 Japanese Paper Notebook and Mizuhiki Bookmark Workshop 🇨🇱📖🐾 Eugenia from Chile joined our workshop! She signed up because she loves handcrafts, cats, and paper—a perfect combination for a visit to our studio. For her notebook cover, she chose a traditional Japanese maneki-neko (lucky cat) design. For the back cover, she selected a beautiful cherry blossom pattern. The notebook is made entirely with washi paper—from the cover and endpapers to the notebook pages themselves. (The cover paper features a design created from handmade washi produced in our workshop.) Eugenia enjoyed every step of the creative process and worked with great enthusiasm. She was especially interested in mizuhiki knotting and quickly became absorbed in learning the techniques. By the end of the workshop, she had successfully mastered three different knots. When her notebook was finally complete, she spent a few moments admiring it with a smile. It was wonderful to see how much she appreciated her handmade creation. The workshop ended with everyone's favorite activity—treat time with our mascot cat, Kami-chan! 🐱✨ Kami-chan had been quietly watching over the workshop from a distance, but as soon as she realized treats were coming, she hurried over and waited patiently beside Eugenia. We hope she had a truly special and memorable experience, filled with creativity, Japanese craftsmanship, and time spent with a friendly cat. Kami-chan and I look forward to welcoming her back again someday! 🌸📖🐾✨ English Translation Thank you for your message. It has already been more than two months since you joined my workshop. Time flies! I remember having many enjoyable conversations with you during your visit. Have you already returned home? If you would like, I can send your hat to you. Please let me know your mailing address and phone number, and I will arrange the shipment. I look forward to hearing from you. English Translation Thank you very much for signing up for my workshop. Let's make some beautiful washi paper together! This workshop includes two activities: • Make two sheets of handmade washi paper → This part of the workshop will remain unchanged. • A short walking tour of nearby shrines and local shops around my studio → However, this may not be possible depending on the weather conditions. If the weather makes the tour difficult, you can choose an alternative activity instead. For example, you can try mizuhiki knotting, make washi origami, or create other Japanese crafts. I will ask what you would like to do on the day of the workshop. (You will still be able to make handmade washi paper regardless of the weather.) There is a cat in my studio. 🐾 If you have allergies or are uncomfortable around cats, please let me know in advance. I can keep the cat in a cage or move her to another room. After your washi paper is finished, I plan to serve a special tea and traditional Japanese sweets. If you have any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or foods you dislike, please let me know beforehand as well. I am looking forward to meeting you! English Translation Thank you very much for joining the workshop today. I am sending you the photos I took. How did you like the notebook and mizuhiki knots that you made? I would be delighted if you could share your thoughts in a review. Your feedback would be a great encouragement to me. I also share exclusive tutorial videos through my email newsletter, where you can review and practice mizuhiki knotting. I hope you will continue practicing and enjoy improving your skills. I will continue to share tips and techniques regularly in future newsletters as well. What was it like meeting Kami-chan in person? 🐾 I have many videos featuring Kami-chan on my YouTube channel, so I hope you'll enjoy watching them. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to visit Kami-chan again someday. How long will you be staying in Japan? (And were you able to find your way to Don Quijote without any trouble?) I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and have a wonderful time exploring Japan. ✨🇯🇵🐱
This was a lot of fun and our host was so knowledgeable and such a great teacher. Also, Kami was there to observe we did everything properly.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. (And I’m sorry for my late reply...) Have you had a chance to fill your notebook with lots of memories from Japan? I also hope you will continue practicing mizuhiki knotting and make gifts for your family and friends. My mascot cat and I are looking forward to seeing you again someday! 🐾😊✨
Really enjoyed the workshop where you get hands on creation of a small notebook and different items using the mizuhiki cords. You get to make your own multiple choices of paper and colors of cords, giving you plenty of opportunity to tap into your creativity. Unfortunately my hands fumbled around with the mizuhiki cords but Kaho-san was so kind and patient. Highly recommend this workshop if you want to combine your interest in Japanese crafts along with a hands on experience.
Thank you for your review that makes me happy. It makes me confident. The mizuhiki knotting may have been a little difficult, but I’m very happy and relieved that you were able to complete such a beautiful notebook. Please write down your memories of Tokyo and Japan in your notebook and proudly share it with your friends and family. When you come to Tokyo again, my mascot cat and I will be looking forward to seeing you!
I had a wonderful time learning to tie multiple mizuhiki knots and making a notebook from scratch. It was fun to choose all of the materials and I especially appreciated the small class size -- and, notably, it was possible to book this class as an individual participant without having to pay for a "two participant minimum," which I noticed was common for other similar classes. This was a charming class, and I purchased additional materials when I left so that I can make more knots and show friends back home.
Thank you so much for sending your review. I was very happy that you took an interest in mizuhiki knot tying. This workshop is designed for a small group so that everyone can work carefully and at a relaxed pace until completion. I would be delighted if you could draw or write your memories from Japan in the notebook you made and proudly share it with the people around you. If you have any questions about mizuhiki, please feel free to contact me anytime. I look forward to seeing you again together with our mascot cat. 🐾
We learned how to make a beautiful notebook and traditional decorative Japanese knots to make a bookmark. The workshop was well organized and easy to follow. We also learned about washi , Japanese paper making, and other paper craft shops in the area. Tea and special cookies were served at the end. Kami, the owner’s cat, was friendly and entertained us as we worked.
Thank you for your review that makes me happy. It makes me confident. How did you like the notebook you made yourself? I’d be so happy if you were able to create many wonderful memories. We look forward to welcoming you again—please come visit our mascot cat too!
