Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable however, I think we picked the wrong tour for us. We didn't realizing that it was mainly focused in one area and all walking and not driving to different locations in the city. The Mosque and Topkopi Palace were nice to visit. We were disappointed with paying as much as we did for private tour, then having to pay an additional $120 fee to get in. We denied paying another fee and cut the day short which was still 4 to 5 hours. It was a costly day.
The guided tour is needed if you want to understand the history of Turkey and Istanbul. Knowledge guide is a must and Tolga was the best. Without him we will be lost

We were able to visit all the iconic sites of Istanbul, and learn the history from our very friendly and knowledgeable guide Fettah. He was very flexible allowing us to spend more time where we wanted more time or stopping for refreshment, etc. We were extreme pleased him! Be advised that the entrance fees to the various places are not included in the price of the tour, and they vary from about 20€ to 50€ per person per site.

We had a wonderful day with Sabit. His knowledge and passion for his job made the city's rich history understandable and interesting. We especially enjoyed the Topkapi Palace Museum- learning about life in the palace and seeing the Spoonmaker's Diamond. Also, the city views from the palace were amazing. Secondly, we found the Basilica Cistern so interesting! The engineering of it alone is mind blowing! Be prepared for a lot of walking. It's a full day, but well worth it!
