Chamarel 7 Colored Earth Geopark er Mauritius 'mest ikoniske attraktioner! Rød, brun, violet, grøn, blå, lilla og gul. Et næsten surrealistisk, månelignende skue af regnbuehulet sandklitter udfolder sig for dine øjne, hvilket efterlader dig fuldstændig fascineret. Uden tvivl den højeste en-dråbe vandfald i Mauritius på ca. 100 m høj. Chamarel-vandfaldet er et slående stykke natur, der står midt i tæt vegetation. Rejsende vil have en forreste udsigt over dette vidunder i naturen og vil være i stand til at tage billeder fra to synspunkter.
De bølgende strimler af flerfarvet sand, der lægger sig i forskellige lag, er en af de mest fotograferede og besøgte seværdigheder på øen. De sidder i en åben lysning, hvis underkant er beklædt af en endemisk plantehave, der fremhæver Mauritius 'naturarv. Åben hele året rundt er Geopark en must-see attraktion for nysgerrige sind i alle aldre. Der er blandt andet også en sjov skildpaddepark og en souvenirbutik, der tilbyder en række memorabiliaer, herunder lokale produkter fra Chamarel, mens kaffebaren er en glad caféoplevelse.

Nice place to visit wonderful place to be reconnectâtes with nature
Its aan amazing place. Nice walking around the earth area. Surrounded by lush green trees endemic. The Giant Tortoise can be seen too
It may have been a slightly gloomy day, but the visit was not that exciting; the park has been modernized with bars and shops with outrageous prices. The lands are quite faded, as seen in the photo
The park is best visited by (rental) car. You pay 1 entrance fee and have that in the park several sights where you have the easiest to drive by car from place and place. Walking between the spots is very far. The waterfall has 2 vantage points, one near the parking lot but also a higher one. The 7 colors of earth also has multiple points and depending on the position of the sun, one is more beautiful than the other because of the angle that it shines sun on it. With the 7 colors of earth is also a great bar for a small snack or coffee / ice cream etc. The turtles are equally nice to see. For children maybe a little more fun but still a bit part of the Island so nice that they were also seen here. You're walking through it pretty quick idd. So certainly not the only one doing that day in the area. We had first partly climbed the Le Morne. The last real climb shared was because of the wintry weather closed (although people walked that trip as still) so we were was faster finished with Le Morne and drove through here around 12 o'clock. After 2 hours this park is seen. Possibly to Ebony natural park to hike what is next to it or by for a good real lunch and very nice view at Le Chamarel Restaurant which is a few minutes further away. All in all if you are in the area and have time definitely recommended.
A truly beautiful and well-organized park. First, there is the waterfall that can be reached in 5 minutes by car: magnificent photo! Continuing further by car, you arrive at the park of the land of seven colors, where there is also a garden with giant tortoises. A very beautiful scene, especially in the sun, which highlights the colorful shades of the land. There is also a kiosk/cafeteria and a very nice souvenir shop, but with truly exorbitant prices.
We were fortunate to cross paths with Salim Tarsoo. What a joy to have met him. He introduced us to his island, the island he loves, and he shares it with you. Nothing to do with tourist trap excursions. We were able to visit unlikely places off the beaten path, places to meet locals, breathtaking landscapes, and the joy of swimming with turtles 🐢. He always has a little joke, has a great sense of humor to ensure our excursion goes as well as possible. He is also an excellent fisherman who will share his passion with you. Another strong point, he will introduce you to all the vegetation, animals, and fruits. A passionate individual 😄. We had him with us for several days, and the days were well filled. No time duration calculated... he will only be satisfied if you are satisfied. Honestly, I recommend him 300%, you will not be disappointed.
We were initially unsure whether to visit the Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark after hearing mixed reviews, but we’re really glad we did. It’s a fascinating natural site, and the colours in the sand are genuinely striking and unlike anything we have ever seen. We also enjoyed seeing the tortoise breeding programme, which was a lovely bonus and added an interesting conservation aspect to the visit. Overall, it’s an impressive and unique attraction that we would definitely recommend. While we wouldn’t necessarily return, it’s absolutely worth visiting at least once when in Mauritius.
You need a hire car or driver to get here. Roads are narrow, so drive at your peril, and remember, they drive on the left. Super park, well-branded, Seven Earths were interesting, though it is a small area. Turtles were fun two. Two were mating when we were there. Quite novel. The waterfall is cute; we are from Switzerland, so was like looking at a dripping tap for us. Well worth an afternoon out. Stop just past the Chameral restaurant for a pic on the way down.
A nice place if you enjoy nature and scenic views. The area is well maintained and peaceful! The colors of the sand were fascinating to see especially on a sunny day.
