I dag kører vi ad en naturskønt vej, der grænser op til Llanquihue-søen, som er vært for en af de bedste naturskønne veje i regionen. Vi ankommer til Vicente Perez Rosales nationalparks ældste nationalpark, der blev grundlagt i 1926. Den dækker et område på 251.000 hektar (619.970 acres), der inkluderer parkens midterste stykke, Lago Todos los Santos, Saltos de Petrohué, og tre befalende vulkaner: Osorno, Tronador og Puntiagudo. Vi fortsætter vejen op til konfiteriet omkring 4600 fod, hvorfra vi vil nyde vores første korte gåtur på dagen rundt i et sekundært krater, hvis røde og orange farver skiller sig ud fra det naturlige landskab. Herfra får du en af de dejligste udsigter over Calbuco-vulkanen, der sidder lige foran os ca. 25 km afstand, tid til en kop kaffe i basecamp-resto og kør mod solitariostien. Her deltager vi i den naturlige sti, der introducerer os i den dybe skov med lav og bregner, der langsomt ændrer landskabet til tørrere terræn og krydser lavastrømmen fra det sidste udbrud i 1869 for endelig at nå frem til de spektakulære stryk fra Petrohue-floden, der strømmer til flodmunding af Reloncavi Som en del af udflugten for ikke at gå glip af smaragdsjøen. Kør tilbage til dit hotel. Ankom til 18 timer ca.

We had a really fabulous day with Maria, everything was so well organised and on time, she knows the area so well and so had lots of history and interesting facts about the volcanos and local plants and features. A great day hiking with a lovely packed lunch also so bravo Maria

Our family of three were guided by Maria. She was fantastic. Maria took into account my wife’s asthma and adjusted the hike accordingly so that we still had a great experience at volcano. The boxed lunch addressed allergy concerns as well. A very good day of hiking that allowed us to experience different areas. The best was the hike up the volcano! Excellent tour that you should not miss!
María is an excellent guide with a lot of experience. We had a wonderful day hiking Volcán Osorno with her. This hike is a great day hike and is a must see for anyone in the Puerto Montt/Varas area. I would love the opportunity to go on more hikes with María in the area.

Maria is a terrific guide. We started at the Osorno ski resort and did a short loop trail that had wonderful views of the Chalbuco volcano which erupted in 2015. Because of the eruption, many trails in this area have sandy footing. The Solitario trail, 3.5 miles one way, is no exception. We walked through a lovely rainforest and then entered into more open spaces. Beware the biting flies in January and wear light colored clothing so you don’t attract them. We finished our day at Petrohue Falls and Emerald Lake.

Maria made the whole visit easy. Super responsive to emails, making it easy to book. Prompt pickup. A great day explaining local history and geography as we did a hike up the main mountain/volcano and the surrounding areas. We were lucky to have a gorgeous clear day (but very windy!) in the morning, before showers in the afternoon. It was only 3 hikers plus her and the driver, so made for easy and quick going. Overall, Maria and Patagonia Trails were great. Highly recommend her services.
