My husband and I had a great time. Although we lagged behind during the hike, we still enjoyed ourselves. Don't forget the bug spray! Unfortunately, I did and got 6 bites. Of course, mosquitos don't like my husband's blood, just mine lol.
Great experience. Physical task though. Kayak in about 1.4 miles, hike in the jungle for about 1 mile. Then you have to repeat the process to get out. Our tour guide was Kayman, he was great. Nice, informative with lots of knowledge. We were safe the whole trip and he lead us through the jungle. He also took time to stop at multiple spots and take pics at his fav places. The waterfall is the payoff for your hard work. You get to take pics, eat and swim at the falls, no rush. The tour was fantastic and Kayman was a professional tour guide. Make sure your ready for about 3 miles of kayaking and 2 miles of hiking!
Kai and koa are beyond enjoyable and so welcoming. We loved how we were worried about going too slow and he said,”you’re going at just right speed.” We love this tour so much that we go every year. It’s a good mix of kayaking, hiking and swimming by the waterfall. We had a great day. Thank you
This is a dangerous hike. We witnessed a few people fall and hurts themselves because the trail is so muddy and lots of rocks. I would not recommend this until they put in a proper would trail through the dangerous spots!
A must do!!!! Our guide had a great personalty, kept a us safe, entertained and pumped up!! We got by with cheap water shoes but would recommend the hike/water shoe combo.
Great experience for the whole family! Paddling and hiking to the falls was super fun especially with the help of our awesome guide Cayman. He def made us feel at ease. He was funny, easy going, and kept a close on everyone. Loved every minute…even paddling back against the wind!!
It was a beautiful day. Pretty rigorous experience IMO with the 4.5-5 mile kayak (round trip) and hike up to the waterfall. Our guide was a little rough- kept saying he didn’t think we could make it (I had only kayaked once or twice prior and was paired with someone with 0 experience so we struggled). It was discouraging, especially since it said no experience was necessary. Overall it was fun. Pretty muddy as others have said. Grabbing a walking stick will help! Tour guides do this barefoot!
From all the emails and texts it was not at all clear that we needed to be there 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the tour so when we showed up up on the scheduled time of 10 am we were told the groups has left and we need to rent the kayak and do the trip on our own, which we did and it went ok. It would have been nice to have a guide given the tricky slippery path full of mud
It is a kayak with a hike, so be prepared. It takes some work and effort, but so worth it in the end. It’s not a relaxing adventure so if that is what you are looking for, this one is not for you. Water shoes, snack bag, water… the waterfall is a bit chilly and windy, yet stunning. Sam, our tour guide, made the experience so much fun. He added the touch of local flair that made the adventure that much more special. He was very relatable and knowledgeable about the history, plants and answered any questions the group might have had. He always made sure the group was staying together and would wait if needed. He was a jokester and was really good about including our 9 year old son and 14 year old daughter in the tour, them being the youngest in the group. Good-sized group, felt manageable. It was a fun adventure with some exercise added in. Mahalo, Sam ~ Keep being you!
Beautiful scenery. Was a fair amount of work. The trail was pretty muddy but the waterfall was so worth it.
