Denne smukke grønne dal er den perfekte præamble til Waimea Canyon. Det er delvist ejet af Robinson-familien og hjemmet til Jurassic Falls. Vi stopper her i omkring 5-10 minutter for at tage billeder.
Det er tid til at tage et skridt tilbage i tiden og besøge den historiske by Hanapepe, som revitaliserede efter Anden Verdenskrig og blev til et kunstferie. Her vil du kunne nyde nogle friskfremstillede lokale bagerier og drikkevarer, gå den svingende bro, der krydser Hanapepe River, bygget i 1912, besøge nogle kunstgallerier, og shoppe for lokalt fremstillede souvenirs og håndværk. Hvis du elsker Lilo og Stich, er det denne by, der inspirerede den film. Hanapepe er en autentisk by fuld af historisk charme, i modsætning til nogen anden på Kauai.
Waimea Canyon State Park er et af Kauai naturlige vidundere, kendt som mini Grand Canyon i Stillehavet. Beundre denne geologiske perle fra forskellige udsigter, som vi stiger bjerget til omkring 3800' i højde. Vi vil komme ud af vognen på forskellige steder for fantastiske billedoptioner. Den vigtigste Canyon udkig er lukket for restaurering indtil december 2025. Vær venlig at vide, at Canyon er omkring 15 miles lang og 2 miles bred, derfor kan du stadig nyde fantastisk udsigt fra mange steder, når du går op ad Canyon vej. Majestætisk skønhed i sin fineste!
Vi vil fortsætte med at bestige bjerget forbi Waimea Canyon State Park for at udforske den høje skov af Kokee. Hvis vejret tillader det (Ingen garanti), vil du forbløffe på den betagende Kalalau Valley lookout, den største dal af den berømte nepalesiske kyst. Vi stopper for frokost på Kokee Lodge, der oprindeligt blev bygget i 1930'erne som en jagthus. Deres mad er lavet med lokale råvarer, og det smager som hjemme.
Sidst men ikke mindst i vores dagsorden, vil vi besøge Spouting Horn i Poipu. Denne fantastiske naturlige skønhed er produktet af en nu uddød vulkan; et vandblæsende hul, der kan nå højder op til 20 fod. Oplev naturens magt, mens vandet springer ud som en geyser. På vej ud af Poipu kører vi gennem den berømte Tree tunnel.

Coco Maria was super fun and friendly. She has an awesome vibe and sense of humor, which made our day even more fantastic. We saw lots of great sights and had a full day of exploring. She had a few hidden treats up her sleeve and we really appreciated her knowledge and planning ahead that she had done. Highly recommend them!
We did a private tour today on Kauai. We had a great guide, Shasta, that gave us a great, fun tour and had amazing knowledge of the area. We went to the Spouting Horn, Hanapepe Valley Lookout and the small town, stopped at a little bakery to try their donuts. Waimea Canyon State Park, (they call it the little Grand Canyon) Koke’s State Park but the cloud cover was unfortunately too much to see anything, and after lunch we drove through where Jurassic Park and the first Indiana Jones were filmed. Great day with amazing views. We were able to customize the trip and Shasta was very accommodating in what we wanted to see. We would highly recommend Kauai Soul Travel and Shasta.

Shasta is very sweet, kind and funny. She took us patiently to all the scheduled stops, identified important spots to take photos and took nice photographs. She gave very interesting insights and detailed stories about Hawaii and Kauai’s history, people, language and its culture. She engaged the kids very well and took us to interesting places for snacks and lunch. We had a wonderful tour of Spouting Horn, multiple stops in Waimea Canyon, Hanapepe Town and a local bakery. The weather was beautiful! We enjoyed the trip a lot! We highly recommend this tour.

This was an amazing tour with an amazing tour guide! The tour is run by a small family owned tour company, and they were so attentive and communicative. I highly recommend using Kauai Soul Travel to see the island, get recommendations for things to do around the island, and to learn about the beautiful island of Kauai. The weather wasn’t great for seeing the canyon, but adaptions were made to the schedule to get the most out of our time.

Traveling with 12 people was easy with Kauai Soul tour! Coco’s 7+ hour tour of Kauai was one of the highlights of our trip to the Islands! Her communications to our group setting up and paying for the tour was excellent! She picked us up promptly at the cruise terminal in her comfortable passenger van and led us on a journey around south and west Kauai which included Poipu, Kauai coffee, the amazing Waimea Canyon and Hanapepe. Coco was funny, engaging, and had many insights about the area and Hawaii history to share with us. We had a total blast with her! Highly recommend a tour with this incredible lady!

We snagged a shared tour because private was no longer available. Coco does not pack her vehicles to the max, she keeps her clients comfy! So we had no issues sharing the day with a multigenerational family. Coco is a beautiful storyteller and rich with knowledge of Kauai. Her positivity and wit were a nice addition to our day. From the Waimea Canyon to the swinging bridge, the tunnel of trees and beyond to little local spots, we had a lovely day! Worth every penny and more!
