Great host, great attitude, good food. Wonderful information about the community. Exciting possibilities
I enjoyed the tour and the food and the people and I am looking forward to taking another tour with my family and friends. I plan to take the tour next year in 2026.
I got the opportunity to take my 10month baby and my 19yo little sister for the tour! And let me just say that it was the best food tour ever. I mean the food was excellent, the host and tour guide was just so cheerful and the group was just so welcoming. It was full of fun moment, my daughter enjoyed the walk and the attention!!!! Can't wait for more next summer
It was amazing to see how much Main Street on Woodland Avenue has changed. The area has become very attractive. The Africatown Food Tour was very well organized, and the selection of restaurants was excellent. The food was delicious, and I encourage anyone who hasn’t had the chance to experience it to go ahead and do so.
Great tour full of interesting facts about the neighborhood. The food was fantastic and It was great meeting the chefs and reataurant owners.
Such an informative tour! I took it through my role at Visit Philly and am sharing my own, unbiased view. I loved learning more about this neighborhood and community. There were so many delicious bites, and you could tell each business owner put a lot of heart and soul into their place. Highly recommend.
I went on this tour two times now and it keeps getting better each time. The food stops are a must-try and the restaurants owners could not have been more welcoming! Tour guide is very informative and friendly. Would recommend!
This was my 2nd time taking the Africatown tour, I had the best experience! Loved the food, the excellent history lesson of the neighborhood, and getting to meet some of the chefs at the local restaurants. We even got to walk into other local businesses to meet the owners and learn more about their history/culture, wonderful experience.
I went last week on the Africatown Food Tour and it was a phenomenal experience that I would recommend to any visitors, Philly natives, or foodies! I thought that the price was perfect for the amount of food you got on the tour, plus all of the great information we learned from our guide Kou. The tour lasted about two hours, and it was the perfect amount of walking and eating. It was great to speak with the chefs about their cuisine and why they chose to make each dish. The chef and tour staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgable. As someone who has lived in Philadelphia her whole life, I am happy to say I found some new favorite spots!
Kuo, our guide, was a wonderful ambassador for the area. She knows the area and is a real booster for the businesses there. She was very personable. The food was interesting and delicious. Especially loved the oxtail at Jam Rock I appreciated the impromptu stop at the grocery store, esp with someone who knows so much about the items there, many of which I did know. Will definitely recommend this tour!
