Bring water! I've been on several city tours around the U.S., and this was my first one that didn't offer bottled water for the guests. Therefore, my kids and I were unprepared and soon became miserable. They do offer shade on the upper level, modest air conditioning on the lower level, and pieces of cardboard to fan yourself with. The tour itself was packed with information, though had far less humor and stories than the other tours I've been on. (Maybe the tour guide was just too hot to have a sense of humor -- it was a July afternoon in New Orleans, after all!)

Sun is hot in New Orleans; try to sit under the awning or on the bottom unless trying to get a tan. Otherwise a great tour

This was a really fun way to see things around the tourist areas of New Orleans. We have been to the French quarter many times but this tour took us around places we hadn’t done before. And saved our feet. I would recommend it if you want to see a lot.

Driver is very friendly and knowledgeable. Has a good sense of humor. And you can pick up a map of the route as soon as you board the bus.

I usually take hop-on hop-off tours whenever I visit a new city because they’re a great way to quickly learn about the history, landmarks, and places worth visiting. This tour, however, was different from others I’ve experienced. Instead of having a standard recorded commentary, the experience depends entirely on the live guide, so the quality can vary. Based on other reviews, it seems that much depends on which guide you get. Unfortunately, our guide did not meet my expectations. The commentary lacked the historical context and interesting stories I was hoping for, making the tour less informative than similar hop-on hop-off experiences I’ve had in other cities. The route itself was convenient, but I left feeling like I had missed the opportunity to really learn about the city.
