Vi starter fra Agia Irini, vi stiger op i den vilde og skjulte Fygou Gorge og vender tilbage sikkert til vores udgangspunkt via den historiske venetianske sti Vasiliki Strata, nyder autentisk bjerg gæstfrihed undervejs.

We had a great time hiking with Vangelis and we are so happy we booked this tour. The driving was quite perilous so it was a great relief to be with our guide who grew up in the area and is very familiar with the roads. We learned a great deal about the history of the island and were impressed by the beauty of the landscape during the hike.
Great hike, an experienced guide who tailored the hike to our preferences and abilities. Beautiful views. Guide Vangelis met us at a convenient location and was nice enough to get us back to the bus station right on time. Excellent guide, highly recommended.
We were picked up in old town by a local guide. The drive through the mountains was spectacular. Even though Samaria Gorge was closed for the season we were able to stop and see the top of the trail. We hiked a loop over the Vasililiki Strada, Samaria Fygou gorge and Irini Gorge. The guide set a great relaxing pace and gave us a wonderful history of Crete. The experience was well worth the money.

We really enjoyed the circular walk. It offers great views of the different facets of the landscape. The altitude and duration of the hike were just right for us as occasional hikers. Our guide Vangelis is experienced and catered to our individual needs, was super friendly and knowledgeable about history. We highly recommend this tour!

We had a great hike with Vangelis in the Chania area. The gorge itself is very pretty and Vangelis is knowledgeable about the area and the history of Crete which was interesting. We are experienced hikers and thought the route was a good challenge. It’s approximately 10km and some of the terrain is technically difficult. There is a relatively gradual 600m ascent at the end which may be difficult if you’re not fit. Vangelis is clearly experienced and we enjoyed learning / talking about climbing, trekking etc. Vangelis adapted his style to work well with us so we kept up a good pace, and he also chose a direction of route that was more mentally challenging at the start and physically at the end to ensure the best possible experience. I definitely recommend booking this experience if you’re considering it, you won’t regret it!
