This was an absolute magical experience! We came to Mexico City for a week of celebration and this was the PERFECT way to end our trip. Gerry was an amazing, caring and knowledgeable guide and made sure to teach us all about the sights. He was also patient with us and making sure we were always comfortable and taken care of. I highly recommend booking this trip and hope you get Gerry as your guide. Juan was also a fantastic driver and we felt safe the entire time. 10/10 experience!

This was a really great experience. It is an early morning, but it is worth it to avoid the traffic and get to the pools early. We arrived and there were hardly any people, so it gave you an opportunity to get pictures and be alone. Our guide was good and helpful the entire time. He showed us the different areas. We really loved the cave and the waterfall. It was the best part of the trip. Our guide also took us to a more secluded part of the river so that we could swim in it alone. Overall, it was a great trip and highly recommend.

I booked this experience well in advance. Although my hotel was not included on the pickup list, the company agreed to pick us up at my hotel in the historical district. The night before, the guide messaged me to confirm pickup at a location near my hotel. I told her that pickup had been arranged at Umbral Hilton. She asked for proof so I sent her a screenshot of the confirmation. She didn’t respond but I received a message from the company that their “policy had changed” and they were no longer picking up in the historical district due to road closures in the area (due to the World Cup game that was two days away). I understand the rationale, except there were NO road closings at 430 in the morning when the pickup time was and the road my hotel was on was never closed. The other issue that took place was with the driver. We went over a bump so hard that everyone flew out of their seats. I was wearing a seatbelt and my head still hit the ceiling. Hard. The guide was sweet, but not very knowledgeable. She didn’t tell us anything about the thermal pools except that the pools that were higher up were warmer. She was great when we went to the cave and stayed with us in the water, holding a flashlight for us in the dark sauna cave. On the way back to the van, my partner and I got stuck behind some ppl who were walking very slowly. The guide didn’t wait for us and we wouldn’t have been able to find her if we didn’t What’s App her. I was lucky that my phone wasn’t dead. I’d been using it for pictures. Tip: Expect a rough drive the entire way. Tip: Bring a cover up and a towel.

I was picked up at my Airbnb really early (4am), and we quickly got on the road. Our group size was 10 people plus our awesome tour guide Gerry and driver Juan, and the van was perfect for us. I was able to sleep all the way to Tolantongo after picking up everyone and woke up ready to start our day. The activities were perfectly timed (although I probably will book a night at the hotel next time). Our tour guide Gerry gave us a time and place to be ready by so we could enjoy all parts of the trip. I would encourage you to bring cash for the souvenirs, you can use your card for breakfast. If your swimsuit has pockets/zippers, I'd bring extra for some of the stores along the way. You'll be back at your place by 4:30/5pm so you can enjoy the rest of your evening in CDMX.

Mr juan and Jerry simply couldn’t have been better, they had free water and made sure everyone has the most pleasant tour they could possibly have, 100% recommend. Absolutely incredible trip I will never forget, thank you!!

A great day out to get to know and appreciate rural Mexican life. Some aspects require an adventurous spirit, but well worth stepping (literally) out of your comfort zone

The pools, cave and river at Tolantongo were amazing!!! We really enjoyed our day there. It is a long ride to get there but well worth it. Our guide Ara and driver Mario were absolutely great! Highly recommend!

This trip was absolutely amazing! Both Michel and the driver were kind. Do try to visit during the weekday and non-vacation times since the hot springs can get PACKED. There is also so much more than just the hot springs too. Additionally, be cautious if you get bad motion sickness since we passed through lots of speed bumps, mountains, and rough roads. Thankfully, we were provided with water and medicine for motion sickness. We were also allowed to stop if we needed some fresh air too. To prepare, you should bring some water shoes and a fair amount of cash since only the restaurant takes cash. There are some shops there if you need towels, shoes, etc… but they are cash only.
