Kløften har fået sit navn fra sin hesteskoform, defineret af to coulees, der flyder ind i Kneehill Creek, en biflod til Red Deer River. Kløftens to arme er cirka 5 km lange hver og strækker sig fra Highway 9 til Kneehill Creek ved to tidligere minesamfund Dunphy og Gatine. Til gengæld giver det navnet til Horseshoe Canyon-formationen.
Velkommen til Drumheller!
En hoodoo er et højt tyndt klippespir lavet af sandsten med en hård og tæt sten siddende ovenpå, som en hat. Eller som skiltet i parken beskriver dem: "Eroderede søjler af blød sandstensklippe toppet med en elastisk hætte." Hættene er dannet over hundreder af år gennem erosion fra frost, frost, afsmeltning og vind. Over tid eroderer sandstenen til lange skorstenslignende formationer, der bliver stående, fordi den hårde klippe-"hat" forhindrer den i at erodere helt væk. Den hårde sten på toppen af hætterne beskytter det bløde lag af sandsten nedenunder mod elementerne, der skaber den mærkelige form. Men når de når stadiet til at være de søde eventyrskorstene, holder de ikke længe! Det siges, at hvert 100. år taber de 2-4 fod.
Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site er en inaktiv kulmine i Alberta, Canada, der fungerede fra 1936 til 1979. Den anses for at være Canadas mest komplette historiske kulmine og er hjemsted for landets sidste stående trækultip, og den største stadig står i Nordamerika. Det blev udpeget til Alberta Provincial Historic Resource i 1989 og et nationalt historisk sted i Canada i 2002.
"Verdens største dinosaur" er navnet på en turistattraktion langs vejen i form af en model Tyrannosaurus rex
Oprindeligt bygget i 1968 tjener denne berømte lille kirke som et sted for tilbedelse og meditation.
Det er svært at tro, at vi har noget så naturligt og betagende midt i ingenting Alberta! Udsigten er fantastisk, og du sidder tilbage med en følelse af fred, som det moderne samfund ikke...
Rangeret som et af de bedste palæontologiske museer i verden åbnede Royal Tyrrell Museum i september 1985. Tal for 2018 viser, at Royal Tyrrell Museum bød velkommen til mere end 450.000 besøgende.

Manny, our driver was amazing! He was friendly and accomodating, and I felt safe as a passenger. He kept the cabin of the clean van cool as it was warm outside. Royal Tyrell Museum was absolutely astonishing- exceeding my high expectations. To me the experience was well worth the money, as it was the best way to feel comfortable and safe to see exhibits I have long looked forward to from the other side of the world.

We stayed in Calgary for a week without renting a car, so arranging a couple private day trips was necessary. We decided to splurge on a private tour...and ABest is a good firm to go with. Our driver, Ali was very chatty, and had a lot of great tips and stories. Only snafu was a miscommunication about stopping at an old ghost town that we had no interest in and have visited similar in our western US trips.

I love dinosaurs so I have always wanted to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller! I happened to be in Calgary on my way home from a big trip so I decided to see if it was reasonable to fit in a visit to Drumheller while I was there. Thanks to Abest Transport & Tour, it was! Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, sorry I didn't have better cold-weather clothing to get out and explore more! My main goal was to the see the Royal Tyrell and it was excellent. There are so many cool specimens there, including a surprising number of intact and mostly intact ones. Those are so rare to find but Alberta is one of the best places for it. If you also love dinosaurs the Royal Tyrell in Drumheller is a must-see.

Amman was very pleasant and he was great when my son thought he lost his wallet, which ended up In between the seats in van, then my car keys were also in my son pocket which fell with wallet but we didn’t realize til after Amman dropped us off at hotel. I called Amman and he went back checked that that evening, he didn’t find, but called the next morning and asked if he could double check and he did find the keys!!!

Or tour guide Aljay was personable and very flexible to accommodate our tour wants and food sensitivities. Enjoyed the stop in the Badlands at Horseshoe Canyon and the later stop to view hoodoos. The Royal Tyrell Museum is excellent.

We visited the horseshoe canyon, hoodoos, Tyrell Museum and many more places all within a day; this was great for us, especially since we had a short stay in Alberta and wanted to see Drumheller and the Badlands. I highly recommend this tour, and I am looking forward to booking another tour with them soon.

Our guide for the day was amazing! This was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Jef was friendly, knowledgeable and just overall amazing. The tour was catered to our interests which was fantastic for a group of Girl Guides from Ontario! While we there were too many fake dinosaurs (inside joke with Jef) we enjoyed every minute of the trip. We were very grateful he took a detour at our request to hit up McDonalds for some cold beverages and some ice cream on a hot day. We will recommend ABest Transport & Tour Services to everyone.
