The tour was excellent, well organized, and definitely worth it. Unfortunately, our experience with the guide, Chris, was very disappointing. He was rude and disrespectful, and we felt we were treated differently because we are Brazilian women. We reported the incident to the company, and they informed us that appropriate action would be taken regarding the guide’s conduct. The rating reflects our experience with the guide, not the quality of the tour itself.
We had a wonderful day. Everything was well-organized. The castle and the grounds were magnificent. The village is definitely worth a stop. Our guide, Chris, knew his subject very well and told us plenty of anecdotes. He had a great sense of humor. A tiny suggestion if you are hosting French guests: it would be helpful to indicate the time for lunch and where to have it. Otherwise, it was perfect.
The time at the village should be 30 minutes longer and 30 less at the castle. Despite everything, a good visit.
Fantastic day! Would loved to have gone to the location of Yew Tree Farm but the tour did give plenty of time at Highclere.
Hiclere Castle is beautiful and Bampton is a charming village. The tour gave us a close look at many of the locations used for Downton Abbey and Chris provided wonderful information about filming the show.
Chris was our guide and he was fabulous. He had extensive knowledge of the downton abbey show, highclere castle and the village which made visiting the sites a richer experience. Totally recommend this tour.

Rory, our tour guide, spoke well and clear. He has watched Downton Abbey and knew a lot about the show and behind the scene stories. Bampton is a tidy neat town, very happy to see it and spot the places shown in the seasons. Rory had a binder of printouts that matched with where we stopped. Super satisfying experience, if you are a DA fan.
This is a must do experience for Downtown Abbey fans. Jed was so passionate and knowledgeable about the actors and filming locations. He made the tour so fun. We toured inside the Castle, enjoyed a high tea experience, dropped some cash at the wonderful gift shop. The place is stunning, you do feel like you stepped back in time. My favorite was the great hall . And visit to the village church The tour included an Egyptian museum in the underground of the property. It was fascinating to read real archeologists notes.
Absolutely loved this! We love the show and made a family trip here!!! So worth it! Got to walk the house and the gardens and had time to eat and have refreshments on the lawn. We got great photos and memories we will always cherished! Only one thing they may want to add- play the theme song as we come upon the abbey for added effect!👍☺️
