Turmuligheder
Rejseplan
Ingen tur til Jasper er komplet uden et besøg på det berømte Columbia Icefield, det største isfelt i de canadiske Rockies. Fæbende udsigter over tårnhøje bjerge, klipper, is og ren hvid sne så langt øjet rækker.

Great experience and must visit
Expensive. Lots of tourists.
It was a once in a lifetime experience to walk about on a glacier. I highly recommend putting on your bucket list. The single disappointing thing was the upscale restaurant located in the main facility. By dinner time the café and restaurant had closed leaving no other choice but the restaurant that is presenting itself as a gourmet eatery. Unfortunately beyond the menu descriptions and the outrageous prices it does not meet the chef's hopes. We were all disappointed in our orders. My wife couldn't eat hers. Because of the prices we only had appetizers except one off the children's menu which was the most edible food. Unfortunately the chef here fails to deliver upscale food and you will be overcharged including a no option high tip.
The Columbia Icefield to the Athabasca glacier was a spectacular. It felt like an out of this world experience. Our driver seemed like he had experience driving the Terra bus. I wish everyone could have the ability to visit this glacier.
We all enjoyed this experience. Lots of great information from the drivers/guides (Logan was awesome!) and resources along the tour. We were not able to download the audio tour because of WiFi. However, there were great things to read along the tour and leave with the sites and building of the bridge. It was an $$ experience for our family of 6. Everyone aged 18-71 enjoyed it. We went the first tour of the day and enjoyed being the first ones on the glacier that day.
BOOK IT!!! It was the most amazing, unique experience! There are only a few places in the world where you can drive onto a glacier and this is one of them! The ice explorer vehicle was so unique! Went a whooping 10mph and had 5’ tires!! My kids had a blast! Walking out onto the glacier was amazing! My husband did a cold face plunge and my kids felt how cold the water was! A once in a lifetime experience!
Overall this was a good tour. The Glacier portion was great! The skywalk could use improvement. It was an unseasonably hot day and we had to wait for a shuttle bus back in a line in the full sun for 35 minutes. Then the shuttle taking us back did not have working AC and everyone onboard was struggling with the heat. Some things to note the meetup spot has some step steps you must climb from parking lot. It’s not a super accessible experience. However the glacier is beautiful the staff at every point were friendly and welcoming.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1st time visit and would highly recommend this to everyone visiting the Banff/Jasper area. Our bus drivers and icefield explorer were very knowledgeable and entertaining! The only negative is that the bus back to the parking lot at the end of the experience was way too hot! All in all a great day!

Excellent experience, reduce wait time for the tickets. Secure spot at your schedule. Recommended for all.
We drove to the ice fields ourselves and saw some amazing pull offs along the way. The ice field tour was pretty cool, but it’s very commercialized. You hopp on a timed bus for a 5 minute ride to the ice fields. then you switch to a treaded ice bus up to the Glacier. Bring a coat and gloves because it is chilly up there. We went in July. You are on the ice field with 4 other tour groups and it gets a little crowded. When we went, the ice field was pretty slushy and slippery. We have been to glaciers in New Zealand & Iceland and the experiences were much more pleasant. The guides going up and coming back down were very informative about the glacier, its history and the changes going on. It’s worth it if you have never been to a glacier before but just be aware that it gets crowded. We spoke to someone the previous day who trip was cancelled because of fires in the area but the next day everything was fine.
Hello Andrew H, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad you enjoyed the scenic drive and found our guides informative. We appreciate your feedback about the crowds during the busy summer season and always recommend bringing warm clothing, as glacier conditions can change quickly. Thanks for visiting, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Nathaniel Cherry Assistant Guest Experience Manager
