Dette er ikke kun en mad tur - det er en lokal rejse gennem hjertet (og maven!) af Hoi An. Det, der gør min oplevelse anderledes, er den ægte forbindelse til den lokale kultur, mennesker og smag. Jeg guider dig ikke kun til at smage fantastiske retter, men også dele historierne bag hver bid - fra hemmelige familieopskrifter til historien gemt i en skål med nudler. Vi besøger ikke kun populære turiststeder - vi går i baggrunden, spiser på autentiske familiedrevne spisesteder og nyder måltider, ligesom lokalbefolkningen gør: sidder på små stole, griner og deler historier. Højdepunkter omfatter: • Besøg en Bánh Mì butik engang roset af Anthony Bourdain • Smag Cao Lầu, en nudel ret, der kun kan laves i Hoi An • Hands-on spring rolling og ægte indsigt i vietnamesiske mad traditioner • Afslutning af turen på et fredeligt café med vietnamesisk kaffe, juice eller smoothies. På vores første stop træder du ind i et livligt lokalt spisested beliggende nær flodbredden, hvor lyden af snikende smør og røgfuld grillet svin fylder luften. Du vil se lokale kokke forberede bánh xèo (vietnamesiske salte pannekager) lige foran dig - gyldne og sprøde, fyldt med creme, svinekød og bønner. Du vil også få at smage saftige grillet svinekød spises (thịt nướng) frisk fra grillen, og pak din egen gỏi cuốn (friske forår ruller) ved hjælp af ris papir, urter og grøntsager. Bare rolig - jeg vil vejlede dig trin for trin! Det er en sjov, praktisk madoplevelse, hvor du spiser som en lokal og lærer, hvordan disse retter afspejler Vietnams balance af tekstur, smag og friskhed.
På dette stop besøger du en af Hoi An's mest berømte bánh mì butikker - et sted, der har vundet international opmærksomhed. Faktisk besøgte verdensberømte kok Anthony Bourdain netop denne butik og kaldte bánh mì her et must-prøve! Når vi ankommer, vil du se baguetter bliver ristet til gylden perfektion, duften af friske urter og grillet kød fylder luften. Du får mulighed for at vælge din egen fyldning - uanset om det er svinekød, kylling, æg eller endda vegetarisk - og se sælgeren dygtigt samle din sandwich med hjemmelavet pâté, pickled grøntsager, chili, koriander og saucer. Vi vil nyde vores bánh mì ligesom lokalbefolkningen gør - på en lille stol ved gågaden - mens jeg deler sjove historier om vietnamesisk streetfood kultur og hvordan denne enkle sandwich blev en verdensberømt ret.
Dernæst vil vi gå til en hyggelig lokal restaurant, der er kendt for at servere en af Hoi Ans mest elskede retter - Cơm Gà, eller kyllingris. Her vil du nyde sart skåret kylling serveret over duftende ris, der er kogt i kylling bouillon og gurkemeje. Den leveres med en blanding af friske urter, pickled grøn papaya og en let dykkersåse, der bringer alle smagerne sammen. Hver bid er smagfuld, let og forfriskende – den perfekte balance mellem tekstur og smag. Mens du nyder din tallerken, vil jeg forklare historien bag denne ret, hvordan det adskiller sig fra kyllingeris i andre dele af Asien, og hvorfor det er så populært her i Hoi An.
Nu er det tid til at opdage en af Hoi An mest unikke og traditionelle retter - Cao Lầu, en nudel ret, du kun kan finde i denne region. Vi besøger en lille, familieejet nudle butik gemt væk fra turistmængderne. Her vil du prøve Cao Lầu - lavet med tyggegummi, skiver grillegris, friske urter, knusende riscracker og en lille mængde bouillon. Nødlerne er specielle, fordi de er nedsænket i vand fra den gamle Ba Le brønd og ligge fra træaske, hvilket giver dem en tydelig tekstur og smag. Mens du spiser, vil jeg dele den fascinerende historie om, hvordan denne ret afspejler den kulturelle blanding af Hoi An - kinesiske, japanske og vietnamesiske påvirkninger alle i en skål. Valgfrit: Afhængigt af dine præferencer, kan du også prøve en anden regional nudel ret som Mì Quảng eller Bún Thịt Nướng.
For at afslutte vores foodie-eventyr vil vi slappe af på et charmerende lokalt café, hvor du kan vælge mellem en række forfriskende drikkevarer. Uanset om du er i humør for stærk vietnamesisk kaffe (varm eller is), en frisk frugtsaft eller en tropisk smoothie, er der noget for alle. Hvis du elsker kaffe, må du ikke gå glip af muligheden for at prøve ægkaffe, saltkaffe eller en klassisk iskold mælkkaffe (cà phê sữa đá) - rig, glat og unikt vietnamesisk. Vi vil tage vores tid her for at sidde tilbage, køle af og chatte om dine yndlings smag fra turen. Det er den perfekte måde at afslutte en smagfuld rejse gennem Hoi An livlige mad scene.

David was an amazing guide. So good we booked him twice! First a food tour through Da Nang for a group of 17 and a second food tour through Hoi An. The food was all incredible and seeing different areas of both cities, but David’s knowledge and bubbly personality we enjoyed the most. Definitely recommend David and his tours.

The absolute best. David is so kind and happy and knows being a local, knows Hoi An so well. His “mission” was to ensure I was so full I couldn’t eat another thing. He was absolutely successful. Such a nice day spent with David. Excellent knowledge of the best local food spots serving " the real deal" authentic dishes. I had a really great time on this food tour with David! It was just the two of us so he fit the tour to my dietary preferences. He is a local so I got to learn about Hoi An and all of the culinary specialties! We had the Vietnamese pancake, noodles, banh mi and sweet soup! The food was delicious and there is plenty of it! Definitely recommend booking - it will be a memorable and unique experience!

Today I did the food walking tour with David. We ate at places where the locals eat which was so nice and the food was very delicious! David is an very nice and social guy. He speaks English very well and he knows al lot about the history of Hoi An and the local food. I would recommend him. David is the best!

This was one of my favorite experiences in Hoi An. David was a fantastic guide—friendly, informative, and clearly knows local food especially in Hoi An, his hometown. The highlight for me was the best bánh mì I’ve ever had and the flavorful cao lầu noodles you can only find in Hoi An. The whole tour felt personal and authentic. Highly recommend!
