Tag med os på en lækker "multi-etnisk" madsmagning og kulturel/historisk rejse gennem Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village (The Central Village - området omkring Washington Square Park og New York University). Find ud af, hvorfor dette område af landsbyen er så populært for dets mangfoldige madscene, rige historie, kultur, modkultur, særpræget arkitektur og pulserende natteliv i Greenwich Village. Vi starter på Cuba Restaurant med en sidde ned restaurant "cubansk fest" af to forskellige varianter af deres hjemmelavede empanadas, pisang og ris & bønner.
Vi besøger Washington Square Park (bytorvet i Greenwich Village) og lærer om dets radikale demonstranter, det berygtede hængende træ, Washington Square Arch, og hvordan "lev og lad leve" beatniks, forfattere og digtere fra 50'erne og 60'erne skabte Greenwich Village deres hjem.

Snup også et glas vin til dine smagsprøver!
Besøg en af Greenwich Villages bedst bevarede hemmeligheder... og te- og kryddeributik, hvor du kan finde sjældne krydderier og teer fra hele verden, alt sammen inde i det, der plejede at være et gammelt mafia-hangout, hvor dets klassiske udseende er blevet restaureret og vedligeholdt . Prøv lidt friskbrygget te med lokal "Blueberry Honey".

Everything was right on point! Great guide, Rick, great food, some history and humor. Three couples did this food walking tour and our guide was fantastic. It was a ton of food and options for adult beverages at a couple of places. Would definitely recommend and do it again next time we are in town. We have also done their original Greenwich food tour a couple of times and loved it as well.

Our Mother’s Day weekend in NYC included a Foods of New York Tour in the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village. It was a really fun few hours loaded with a variety of tastes ranging from butter chicken to chocolates to incredible pasta and tiramisu. Can’t forget the delicioso pizzas! Rick, our troop leader, was organized, kept us moving right along from place to place and provided interesting tidbits about the neighborhood. We would’ve love to have learned a little more history, but boy did we have full stomachs when it was over! Yum!!

This tour was scheduled for a group of us. Chip worked hard to make sure we had a great time even with our event coordinator confirmation emails causing confusion with the number of attendees. But Chip and Natalie worked hard to fix it and accommodate our group. As a native New Yorker, I learned some new things about the area and got to try some well crafted food I would’ve missed otherwise. Definitely worth the money. Thanks Chip!

This was a great tour! Three of the tastings were quite substantial - like full meal sized. But they were spaced well with smaller tastings and a nice amount of walking in between. It wasn’t too much walking (totally doable) but it really helped space things out. I loved the variety of things we got to taste and our guide was knowledgeable and made it a great experience.

Very good tour. Our guide was Chip -- one of the friendliest and most knowledge guides ever. He really knows this tour well. Come hungry cause you do get a lot to eat. Enjoy!
