Himeji slottets historie spænder fra dets oprindelse i det 14. århundrede som et fort til byggeriet i det 17. århundrede af den nuværende struktur af Ikeda Terumasa. Kendt som White Heron Castle, overlevede det århundreder af forandringer, herunder slutningen af feudalismen og endda bombardementer fra Anden Verdenskrig. Slottet, et vigtigt symbol på japansk slottets arkitektur, blev udpeget som et UNESCO-verdensarvsted i 1993 og har gennemgået flere store restaureringsprojekter for at bevare sine ikoniske hvide gipsvægge og indviklede træstrukturer.
KOKO-EN, Himeji Slot Nishi Oyashiki Ato Garden, er 3,5 hektar og 8,5 hektar i størrelse blev åbnet 29 april 1992 for at fejre 100 års jubilæum af Himeji bliver en kommune. Det er et nyt kulturelt sted, der tjener ikke kun til historisk og kulturel bevarelse, men også komplimenterer UNESCO World Heritage HIMEJI CASTLE
Arima Onsen har en historie som Japans ældste varme kilde, med legender tilskrive sin opdagelse til mytologiske figurer og tidlige optegnelser fra det 7. århundrede nævner kejseren Jomeis besøg. I århundreder blev det hyppigt besøgt af kejsere og samuraier, en udvikling fremmes af Nara Period munk Gyoki, der byggede Onsen-ji Tempel og Kamakura Period munk Ninsai, der etablerede boliger.
Mt. Shosha, på en højde på 371 meter, ligger nordvest for Himeji City. Den første ropeway blev bygget i 1958. Denne ropeway brugte 2 kabelbaner, kaldet Soyokaze og Sachikaze, der kunne rumme 30 passagerer hver. I 1992 blev ropeway udvidet, og i øjeblikket opererer med 2 kabelbaner, der kan bære maksimalt 60 passagerer hver.
Kobe havn tårn er en 108 meter højt landemærke i Kobe, Japan, kendt for sin unikke røde, timeglasformede rørstruktur. Efter en flerårig renovering blev den genåbnet den 26. april 2024, med nye og opdaterede attraktioner

Your in Japan so lots of walking. The castle was absolutely beautiful. But not for those with any type of issue with walking. You climb up to the castle via uneven ground. Once inside, several levels of stairs that are very steep. Then you decend steeper stairs. Worth it but definitely not for those that experience difficulties. The ropeway was closed for the day due to high winds I believe. So we did the Kobe Port Tower which has lovely views but not completely an equal trade. Kareem was very pleasant.

It was relaxed and at our own pace. Our guide, Arslan, took great care of us. He showed us all the sights and even a few off the usual path.

Ali was very nice but ultimately he was a driver, not a tour guide as we had expected. His English was limited and though nice he was very shy and did not talk much or tell us barely anything about the locations. We had thought that a “luxury” tour with a “personal guide” would include someone who could come along with us at each stop (or at least the castle) and give us a rich background on the location and history, but the only service provided was transportation. There was also an issue/miscommunication where the tour company messaged me the night before saying there was a “glitch” with Viator and that the tickets/admission fees were actually NOT included, even though it stated clearly in the description that they were. After some back and forth we got them to correct their mistake but it did sour the experience a bit. Even with the admission being paid for, $675 for transportation and admission feels like a rip-off honestly. I would not do it again.
Our driver Hamza was polite, punctual, respectful and knowledgable. Our private car was spacious for our family. We got picked up and had a very comfortable day exploring the various stops on our tour. Hamza also made some good restaurant recommendations for us for lunch. Overall, very relaxing and productive day spent in Kobe, Himeji Castle and the cable car ride with beautiful views from the mountain and temple. Highly recommend!
