Riku was a great guide. He knew the castle well and provided a lot of insight. He's great at conversation, too, answering all my questions. I've done two castle tours now (Himeji and Osaka), and this tour was definitely better. Part of that is Riku being a good tour guide, and part was Himeji being far less crowded. That was a surprise because I expected Himeji to be the busiest. Definitely don't pass this tour up if you're considering it!

He was very friendly and aware of American customs. He communicated the meeting spot very well and made sure we got back to the train station safely on a very rainy day. His English was very good.

Himeji Castle is so beautiful! I highly recommend visiting! Riku was a great guide. Admission fee is included with this booking. We walked through the castle. The building is very old, and like most historic buildings anywhere, the stairs are steep and the doorways are low. I suggest visiting the castle before shopping. You will want to be carrying less as you climb the steps. I also suggest no long flowy pants or long dresses and skirts. There are no shoes allowed inside. You will be given a plastic bag to carry your shoes with you. Wear shoes that are easy to take off and put on, as there is walking distance between buildings. The tour went a bit over 2 hours.

The tour was amazing! The castle itself was really impressive and Riku answered all my follow-up questions. Afterwards he showed me the adjacent palace gardens. He even helped me to practice my Japanese a bit and gave me some great tips for the rest of my trip! Highly recommend, thank you so much Roku!
