I am disappointed in this particular excursion. We booked a tour to Herculaneum that was to be conducted by an archaeologist. That was the exact write-up on the description of the tour. Also, we knew it was to be a group tour, but not 40 people. We didn't sign up for a large group, and the pickup was half hour late. I will say the guide did a good job at the site, but the group was too big, and there was no archaeologist as a guide. The total cost for 2 adults was $189. We would have paid half the price by choosing another tour but for the "archaeologist" write-up. That is what we expected. If the tour could not be conducted as written, we should have had the option to cancel and/or choose a different tour.

Our guides, all experts and professionals in the field, are trained to provide detailed information about Herculaneum, and we are glad you appreciated the quality of the guide. As for the number of participants, the tour is defined as a "group," and the size varies based on availability. We have never specified that it would be a small group, so we cannot accept this criticism. Finally, as stated in the confirmation, possible delays in the pick-up are related to traffic. The tour operators are very accommodating, arranging transportation that was centrally located from Hotels. The guide was very knowledgeable, Taking care to allow for rest breaks and seeking shade in the heat. She was quite thoughtful and courteous. I’ve toured Herculaneum previously, this was by far the BEST experience!! Thank you very much!!
Excellent tour. Our guide, Eugenio, was just fantastic! He was funny, relaxed and very Knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of information and made the whole experience even better. Very happy with this tour.
