Afrejse fra hotellet kl 9:00 mod sogn Camacha for at observere vidjefabrikken og hele dens proces. Bagefter klatre til Pico do Areeiro 1818m, hvor man kan observere de smukke bjerge og de omkringliggende dale og endda sogn Curral das nuntas, dybt i en af de store dale. Nedstigning til Ribeiro Frio, hvor der er et ørretrum, der senere falder i bæk. Et besøg i Santana centrum følges for at observere de typiske trekantede huse med stråtag, efterfulgt af et andet stop i Faial. Tilbage til Funchal, vil du have to stop, ved Belvedere Ponta de São Lourenço og Machico. Tilbage til hotellet kl. 17.00

Cristo Rei i Garajau: Statuen af Cristo Rei i Garajau er beliggende på et af de mest overraskende steder på Madeira og er et af de mest emblematiske monumenter på østkysten. Det er et must besøg, som erobrer besøgende for sit unikke landskab.
Hovedbyen Santana med en fantastisk udsigt til Eagle's Rock, Porto Santo, Ponta de São Lourenço og de landbrugsbyer, der blev krydset efter Ribeiro Frio.
Santana er en af de bedste og mest farverige landsbyer på Madeira. Her levede indbyggerne i smukke træhuse med tag, der sluttede i det smalle hoved (Palheiros). Nogle af dem overlever stadig blandt de moderne konstruktioner, især dem, der ligger tæt på Queimadas-området.
Ribeiro Frio er et udsøgt sted omgivet af aromatiske skove og byder på et indbydende miljø. Dens bjergskråninger er overfyldt med mange plantearter og udgør skovdelen af Madeira. Her er der blevet installeret en lille ørred fiskegård, der udnytter miljømæssige fordele. Ørredet er naturligvis en af de mest anbefalede retter i den nærliggende restaurant.

What a brilliant day. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Views were incredible. Great itinerary with a great variety. Although there was a schedule and lots of stops it never felt rushed. Our guide Renato was excellent very knowledgeable and with an easy turn of phrase. Very likeable and professional. We also met up again with our previous guide Lionel and the banter was very good. Great day thoroughly recommended.

This was a full day tour visiting Christo Rei, Machico viewpoint, the Rum distillery,Santana, Ribeiro Frio, and Pico d o Areeiro. Our guide/driver was Renato who was extremely knowledgeable about the history and flora. He also had a gentle sense of humour.

Fabulous trip. 15 customers in total in an air conditioned minibus. Driver, Renato, was excellent and also provided the very informative commentary. Plenty of stops for photo opportunities and one long stop in the lovely town of Santana for lunch. The excursion lasted just over 7 hours and if you have only enough time for one excursion, this is the one I would recommend.

Fabulous experience with our guide Lionel (Ritchie!!!) - who was funny and extremely knowledgeable. We did two tours. The East and West of Madeira. Both were very enjoyable.

From the very beginning we received excellent communication from Viator who we booked the tour with. They gave us maps and precise directions on how and where to connect with our tour guide. Our guide Renato was simply outstanding right from the moment we met him through to when our tour concluded and he dropped us off at our ship. The tour itself was amazing! Madeira is such a beautiful island and there is so much to see. This was a full day tour as we were picked up at 9 am and dropped off 4:45 pm. There was never a dull moment. We shared a van with about 8 others and everyone stuck to the schedule that Renato gave us at each stop. Renato's non stop commentary was awesome as he shared the history and so many details of the island with us. If you want an in depth look at the island of Madeira, I can't think of a better way to do it and especially if you get Renato as your tour guide.

Punctual start in a minibus. Bus driver and tour guide did a great job. We laughed a lot. There was a lot of information about Madeira and fantastic viewpoints. It's a great day.
