Ilir was a fantastic guide! Super knowledgeable and experienced, always willing to answer any questions, plus he knows the best spots for photos.
Llir is a super guide. We had a great day and enjoyable time in Berat. Well worth a day out of Tirana. Highly recommend.
If you want to immerse yourself in Albanian history and culture in a short amount of time, I highly recommend booking with Ilir Gramo. I spent two full days with him visiting Berat and Shkodër and was blown away by his depth of knowledge. He has a way of sharing the country's complex history and culture that is incredibly engaging and insightful. Ilir is also wonderfully flexible and friendly. He is happy to move at your pace, and for those who enjoy it, he will ensure there is plenty of time to shop for local crafts and souvenirs. During our group tour to Berat, there were only two of us, and despite us being quite camera-shy and 'unphotogenic,' he managed to capture many fantastic photos of us. He is an excellent tour guide, photographer and a true professional. Whether you are looking to see the capital or the surrounding cities, Ilir is the perfect guide.
A brilliant day out from Tirana. Berat is stunning with so much history and so much to see. Our guide Ilir was fantastic - amazing how much he added to our experience. Thoughtful and full of interesting insights into Berat and Albania. Great value and definitely highly recommended
We really enjoyed this day trip from Tirana. The guide was flexible and knowledgable. Not only was Berat beautiful, so was the drive. I would recommend this tour.
The tour was amazing. We received information from our super interesting guide. We went to the best places to take very nice pictures. We make good use of the time.
Berat was a fascinating destination, and our guide Ilir was an exceptional facilitator and resource. I have used the services of dozens of guides in four decades of visiting southern Europe, and Ilir is certainly in the top 5%. Very personable, knowledgeable, and patient, flexible and willing to address the interests of the group. The winery/farm-to-table Alpeta that we visited after Berat was a wonderful suggestion of Ilir's and is really a destination in itself. Great food and remarkable landscape.
Ilir is a very professional person and very pleasant. We had a great time together! He is passionate about history. I learned so much about Albania. He has an excellent background profession and is very punctual. He speaks several languages: English , Italian, etc. We recommend this guide!
Charming historic town! I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was professional and very informative proving great insights about the history and access to the mosque and the beautiful sufri house. Highly recommend!!
My wife and I toured Berat with Ilir. Both the fortress and our guide highlighted the day. The fortress tells the history of Albania in a nutshell, reflecting the multiple rulers, the role of religion and the personality of the people that results. Ilir also shines. Like all memorable guides, he comes across as affable, skillful, knowledgeable and passionate both about the topic and about guiding. He really brought to life the icons of Onufri Museum which even after years of viewing them, I had never truly appreciated. Ilir similarly fanned my enthusiasm for relics such as the “Purple Bible” as well as the lively history of Albania. Ilir also provides commentary about Albanian life and culture on a comfortable drive from Tiranë. An enjoyable day and highly recommended. As an added plus, Ilir takes beautiful pictures.
